This is a fun activity in Archway, London

Did you know that in China, a long strand of noodles symbolises long life? That’s why Biang Biang noodles are often enjoyed at birthdays and celebrations. If you’re looking for a unique birthday gift experience in London — this is it.

Inspired by the bold flavours of Xi’an street food, this hands-on cooking class teaches you how to make authentic Hand-Pulled Biang Biang Noodles (La Mian) completely from scratch — no additives, no shortcuts, just proper technique.

Love spicy food? You’ll adore the aromatic chilli oil topping. Prefer something milder? We also offer a beautifully fragrant spring onion oil version — equally delicious and fully vegan.

Best of all, the class is thoughtfully designed to be vegan-friendly. If you’re a meat lover, you can explore our dedicated Beef Biang Biang Noodle Class separately, https://classbento.co.uk/w/tmkn.

Whether you're a complete beginner or a confident home cook, your friendly tutor will guide you step by step in a small, spacious, air-conditioned studio. Weekday bookings often feel like a private class.

In this class, you will learn to:
- Prepare and knead noodle dough to achieve perfect elasticity
- Hand-pull Biang Biang noodles from scratch (challenge our 5.1 metre record!)
- Make authentic Xi’an-style chilli sauce and take the remaining jar home. Alternatively, prepare a non-spicy spring onion oil (please mention preference at booking)
- Cook, assemble, and plate your noodles beautifully

By the end of the workshop, you’ll sit down to enjoy your handmade noodles — chewy, glossy, and proudly created by you. You’ll leave not only with a full belly, but with a skill that genuinely impresses.

We recently attended the biang biang noodle cooking class with Simon. Simon as a host was incredible! The class was the perfect balance of educational and fun. The noodles were so tasty, and we left with two huge jars of chilli oil. Would highly recommend, we loved it!

This was such an amazing class, I highly recommend! Simon was such a patient, knowledgable teacher, with an unbelievable amount of fun facts. You will learn not only about the specific dish you're making, but a lot about the history of Chinese food and how specific dishes, spices, etc. originated. I'm definitely going to be coming back and doing some of their other classes!

Honestly one of the best things I've ever done. We learned how to make a delicious hand pulled biang biang noodle dish from scratch, including chinese chilli sauce, but Simon also weaved in fascinating nuggets of information about the history and science behind the food that made it an even more unique experience. Hard recommend!!

We came to learn how to make Biang biang noodles for my birthday. Hannah and Simon couldn’t have been more attentive and informative. The class was intimate and we felt like we had been welcomed into someone’s home kitchen learning to make an authentic meal. It was entertaining too! Thanks for having us, we will definitely be back to learn more ;)

We had a great session with Simon and Hannah, who showed us how to make the viral Biang Biang noodles from scratch. The class was fun, very beginner‑friendly (which helped us a lot), and we even got to take home a full jar of the chilli oil we made. We’d happily recommend their classes and are already looking forward to going back; they have plenty of other recipes we want to try! :)

It was an amazing biang biang noodle–making class. Our teachers, Hanna and Simon, were incredibly kind and polite to my fiancée and me. They took the time to share fascinating history about China and explained how certain historical events are connected to the food, which made the experience even more meaningful. This class was both educational and fun, and we truly enjoyed every moment.
