This is a fun activity in Archway, London

Looking for a unique gift, a foodie adventure, or a twist for your next party? Come and discover the deliciously comforting world of Asian buns in this hands-on London cooking class!

Learn to make three types of buns — soft bao buns, classic steamed buns, and golden pan-fried buns — and take your culinary skills to the next level.

Bao buns have taken the UK by storm thanks to trendy bao restaurants. Not only are they delicious, but they’re also surprisingly easy to make at home for snacks, gatherings, or party platters. Steamed buns and pan-fried buns have a long history in Chinese dim sum culture, and in this class, you’ll master tasty fillings and intricate bun-wrapping techniques that will impress your friends and family.

Small classes in a spacious, air-conditioned kitchen ensure you get full attention from our expert tutors — weekdays often feel like private classes!

What You’ll Learn
- The difference between flours and dough types
- How to roll dough to the perfect bun size and shape
- Wrap buns like a pro (meat or vegetarian options)
- Cook buns: steam, pan-fry, and enjoy
- Presentation tips to make your buns Instagram-worthy
This class is designed for beginners, focusing on wrapping, the most important step. If you love kneading dough and chopping fillings by hand, you can explore these in our add-on classes.

Such a simple and authentic class in dumpling making. Simon and Hannah are simply as nice as can be. And the cocktails were a little added something on top.

It was such a beautiful experience from start to finish. Simon and Hanna were absolutely brilliant—warm, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable. You could tell they were passionate not just about the food, but the entire culture behind it. They walked us through every detail of making traditional Chinese buns in three different styles, and it never felt overwhelming. The class was so well-paced and intuitive, and they made sure we were hands-on the whole time, which made it all the more fun. We particularly loved the bits where they explained the history of Chinese cuisine—it added such depth to what we were making, and gave the whole experience a lovely cultural richness. And the food! Oh my goodness. The buns were delicate, fluffy, and absolutely delicious—some of the best we’ve ever had. There was so much food, we had to take a box home with us (no complaints there!). It truly felt like a feast. They even took loads of lovely photos of us during the class, which meant a lot as we were celebrating our anniversary. It felt personal, joyful, and genuinely special. Highly recommend this to anyone curious about Chinese cooking or just looking for a lovely, hands-on afternoon. We left full of buns and even fuller of heart.

Simon and Hanna were very attentive and enthusiastic. We arrived a little earlier and Simon gave us a description of the traditional foods, culture and history in China and Shanghai. This was followed by step to step tuition on making 3 types of Asian buns.
