Matcha ritual (30 mins)
Kick off with ceremonial grade matcha. You'll get a short introduction to what separates great matcha from the rest -- colour, texture, taste -- before learning to make a proper matcha latte yourself. Then whisk up your own to sip while you get your hands into the clay.

Matcha bowl making (90 mins)
Into the studio, where you'll hand-build your own chawan (matcha bowl) from scratch. Expert instructors guide you through shaping, smoothing and personalising your piece with hand-painted designs, using premium clay and professional tools in our calm, prepared studio.

The finishing touch
Your bowl is professionally glazed and fired after the workshop -- food-safe and ready to use. Collect it in around 4-5 weeks, free of charge, or have it shipped anywhere in the UK for £8.

“A great way to spend two hours. The matcha tasting and making a cup for ourselves, making a bowl out of clay and then painting it, the gentle way of explaining how by both teachers. A very fun, calm and serene time to be had”

“The class was split in to two portions. First the matcha tasting in which you tried several matcha teas, explored the flavour profiles but in a casual "no wrong answers" kind of way before being taught how make your own matcha latte, all whilst learning some interesting facts about matcha and it's history. Secondly the pottery forming and painting of your own matcha bowl. Both sections were excellent. Kaya and Jude were both knowledgeable, friendly and always on hand to help if needed. A great way to spend a couple of hours in London.”
