This is a fun activity in Holloway, London

**Matcha Ritual (30 mins)**

Kick off the experience with ceremonial grade matcha. You'll get a short intro on what separates great matcha from the rest — colour, texture, taste — before learning how to make a proper matcha latte yourself. Then you'll whisk up your own to sip while you get your hands in the clay.

---

**Matcha Bowl Making (90 mins)**

Then it's into the studio — where you'll hand-build your own chawan (matcha bowl) from scratch. Expert instructors guide you through shaping, smoothing and personalising your piece with hand-painted designs, using premium clay and professional tools in our calm, prepared studio space.

---

**The Finishing Touch**

Your bowl will be professionally glazed and fired after the workshop — food-safe and ready to use. Collect your finished piece in around 4-5 weeks.

**Collection Options:**

The teachers were attentive and gave detail. It’s fun being able to learn and drink matcha, make it and then make the bowl, felt like a very fluid lesson. The only thing I will say is you get about 20 mins to paint so it does feel a bit rushed at rhe end

The class, firstly, gives you an insightful and enriching history of matcha and how it is grown. Then educational lesson into tasting 3 different matcha, each different quality and uses. Finally they give us clay to mold into our own chawan, as well as paint to colour. Overall, a great experience and even better teachers.

This was an interesting class. It was nice to start with Matcha tasting with Kai and then proceeding to make the matcha bowl. Jude is on hand to guide/ help you so that is useful for first-timers with clay. You don't use a potter's wheel so less complex as I understand as well. One point of improvement is to have more time to shape and design the matcha bowl. It felt a bit rushed to shape, and design (paint) the bowl in an hour. Here is a photo of my bowl pre glazing. It takes 16 days before its ready to be collected after glazing so fingers crossed for the final look. Overall, nice way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
