Matcha ritual (30 mins)
Kick off with ceremonial grade matcha. You'll get a short introduction to what separates great matcha from the rest -- colour, texture, taste -- before learning to make a proper matcha latte yourself. Then whisk up your own to sip while you get your hands into the clay.

Matcha bowl making (90 mins)
Into the studio, where you'll hand-build your own chawan (matcha bowl) from scratch. Expert instructors guide you through shaping, smoothing and personalising your piece with hand-painted designs, using premium clay and professional tools in our calm, prepared studio.

The finishing touch
Your bowl is professionally glazed and fired after the workshop -- food-safe and ready to use. Collect it in around 4-5 weeks, free of charge, or have it shipped anywhere in the UK for £8.

“We sampled 3 different teas and the teacher explained the history behind matcha along with the reasons for the varying taste. Then we got to try making our own matcha drink (hot or cold) using Brut Tea’s matcha which was really nice. Shaping and decorating our bowls from balls of clay was so much fun. They walked us through each step and honestly just wish we had more time!”

“The matcha tasting was very informative and interesting. I also thought the bowl making process was very thorough and we could take our time witch each step, the class was overall nice and relaxed and it didn’t feel like we were being rushed to finish. The instructors were both lovely.”
