Matcha ritual (30 mins)
Kick off with ceremonial grade matcha. You'll get a short introduction to what separates great matcha from the rest -- colour, texture, taste -- before learning to make a proper matcha latte yourself. Then whisk up your own to sip while you get your hands into the clay.

Matcha bowl making (90 mins)
Into the studio, where you'll hand-build your own chawan (matcha bowl) from scratch. Expert instructors guide you through shaping, smoothing and personalising your piece with hand-painted designs, using premium clay and professional tools in our calm, prepared studio.

The finishing touch

“Awesome & sweet instructor for the matcha tasting: educational and low-stakes. You got to really taste the difference between the types of matcha offered, and I learned a lot about its history and all the factors that go into its production. Pottery instructor was great as well. Was super helpful and gave clear directions for crafting the bowls. Overall had a great time, very chill and we drank so much matcha!”

“I attended this event with my daughter as part of a birthday gift. We were welcomed by our teacher and joined a nice small group of 8. Both teachers for matcha tasting and pottery were friendly and informative. Learned about origins of matcha and tasted different blends before making our own matcha latte to enjoy while making our matcha bowl. New to pottery so this was an easy introduction and very possible for a novice like me. Painting was a therapeutic end to the session. Looking forward to receiving our bowls in a couple of weeks.”
