“My teen son & I loved the Beginner Kintsugi Workshop. Aki-sensei was masterful, generous and warm-hearted. Every step was clearly demonstrated. Japanese culture and history was woven in. We really enjoyed the short tea break, sipping on Japanese tea, while we waited for our work to dry. Aki-sensei passed on his love for Kintsugi, for the beauty of imperfection, and the healing of broken things through the timeless art of Kintsugi. Aki’s wife, Hisae, assisted and their love and warmth and artistry made it really hard to leave the studio. We highly recommend Kintsugi Beginners Workshop and can’t wait to try Kintsugi at home on the broken china and pottery pieces I’ve been longing to see repaired and back in use. Thank you, Ali-sensei & Hisae.”
“I enjoyed the beginners class very much, I've now learnt a skill I'm so excited to try at home. Jun San, his wife and brother were accommodating, encouraging, and so kind. It's such a beautiful practice, i would highly recommend the class to anyone.”
“My husband and I did this class for our 8 year wedding anniversary (ceramics for traditional anniversary gift). We enjoyed learning about the history of the art form and how our teacher learnt the tradition. The lesson was well thought out, engaging and fun. Highly recommend this experience.”
“We thoroughly enjoyed our Kingstugi workshop hosted by Jun-San and Hitomi-San who both have a wealth of experience in the area. It was the perfect team activity for us and their expertise and hospitality made the experience enjoyable and memorable. We appreciated their guidance and patience throughout the workshop.”
