“We had a fantastic time with Bhavna, the food was incredible and we learnt so much about the techniques and history behind the dishes we made. One of us is coeliac and Bhavna made us feel very reassured and safe about allergens. All together was a great experience and we would 100% go again.”
“The class was great - easy to follow and so tasty. Great understanding of how to use spices and fat to develop dishes and the order of ingredients being added. Fantastic hospitality, would recommend to anyone who enjoys home cooking!”
“Bhavna was an amazing teacher and the class was extremely interesting and fun!
Tasted a lot of fantastic dishes and learnt a lot about how to properly cook Indian food!”
“Great presentation and logical approach to using spices and good history lesson on the cuisine origins along with other culture influences thoroughly enjoyable Tony”
“From the moment I was greeted at the door and was served acwelcoming snack with chai , I felt ‘this is going to be s good experience’ and it was was. Bhavna is a lively, pragmatic and patient teacher and we all had a chance to do hands on cooking of several different dishes, learning how to sequence the whole then the ground spices and amazing garnishes. The end resukt was a delicious array of visual and gustatory delights. I highly recommend this course.”
“The day started off beautifully, Bhavna made us feel welcome with a freshly brewed homemade chai and yummy snacks. Then off to the kitchen we went to be introduced to the variety of ingredients that we were going to cook with, including whole spices, ground spices, home-made yoghurt, home-made ghee and the various cooking oils (coconut, mustard, sesame and rice bran). We each took turns assisting with preparing dishes while being provided with clear instructions along with a bonus history lesson that made the class unique and interesting. Of course, the best was left until last when we got to sit down and enjoy the lovely meal that we helped to prepare (and got to take some home too). Highly recommended, will definitely be back to enjoy the other classes offered.”
“I picked this class as a surprise birthday gift for my boyfriend and we both had such a good time! Bhavna was so lovely and had great communication from start to finish. It was so fascinating to hear about the history of Indian food and I honestly could’ve listened about it all day long! It was interesting to learn about the different spices, oils and ingredients used before class, which deepened our understanding of the flavours and fundamentals when cooking! The dishes learnt in class felt really achievable for us to cook ourselves, especially with the booklet Bhavna gave us to bring home, which contain recipes and more that was covered in class. Would definitely take another class with Bhavna again, I’ve already got my eye on her South Indian food class for next time! Thanks for the memorable time, Bhavna!”
