“I saw Cocoa Canopy advertised on social media, using a well known hot chocolate machine. As I'd run out of hot chocolate sachets from the "Hotel", I thought I'd try Cocoa Canopy. Firstly, it's great that you can buy a no obligation trial pack (though you don't get to choose the flavours, and I'm a fan of dark chocolate, but got sent milk, salted caramel and a milk/dark combo). I had to pay a couple of pounds postage, but that was way better than having to fork out for a whole pack. More companies should do this!
But the Cocoa Canopy beans did not melt in my hot chocolate machine. In fact, it got all stuck, made a terrible noise and didn't blend even after manual intervention. I ended up microwaving the mug with beads, in the hope it'd belnd better. It didn't.
I eas reluctant to try the machine again, in case the beads broke it, so I thought I'd try the next one by cutting up the beads first, but as they're shiny and rounded, I decided it was too risky (I'm accident prone!) so I melted them first, then tried blending into warm milk. That was also a failure. Not sure what to do with the 3rd sachet, maybe just eat the beads?!”
Hi Karen, thank you for your review. Sorry to hear you haven't had a great first experience! For the best results, pour the milk in first, then push the button to warm it up before adding the beads. This method will give you the creamiest hot chocolate in your velvetiser!
