“I have not yet received the master smart dimmer for my two pole light that works. The one I received was broken and the replacement package was damaged in transit and never delivered.”
“So I have a 3-way situations and wanted dimmer capability. My home came pre-wired for Deako, so I had little choice. My experience is:
1) They are significantly more expensive that many alternative solutions
2) Set up is a bit of a nightmare because the Primary/Secondary switches have to be very carefully implemented. I am quite technical and much of my home is automated with Philips products, yet it took me 3 tries factory resetting the switches to get them to pair properly.
3) Hardware design - All Deako switchplates snap on and require a screw driver to pry them off. This often results in little divits in your paint, especially if you decide to move them around. At this price I would expect some kind of latching mechanism with a premium feel.
I gave them a 3 out of 5 because once in place they seem to work well, but when they die I will likely hire an electrician to replace the boxes and go with whatever the market leader is at that time.”
