“Follow Directions is important. This is something new to me, but my wife's parents have been brewing Kombucha for many years and she has drank the tea when she was a child all the time. The directions were easy to follow and it took a little time for the fermentation to start. But now we are on our 4th batch of tea and everything is going well. We keep the Scoby in our closet which seems to work well. It takes about a 1 1/2 weeks for both fermentations and we are making about a gallon of tea which comes out to about 6 - 16 oz bottles each time. The Scoby has tripled in size which I believe how it all works. Eventually we can give layers of the Scoby to friends and they can start brewing their own Kombucha.”
“makes great kombucha. I have bought a couple of these over the past year and am about to begin again and buy another. One that I bought was a dud and I suspect it was because the weather was 90+ when it was delivered. It might have been cooking in a hot truck for a long time. I'm keeping that in mind this time around and trying to order when the weather is milder. These make great kombucha - I use Trader Joe's english breakfast tea and do my second ferment in some secondhand grolsch bottles. Having the instructions on the back is helpful. Tastes great as-is, but sometimes I add passionfruit pulp to the bottle and wait a couple days and it tastes awesome. Try it!”
“Very simple and definitely worth it.. It was very simple to brew my first batch of Kombucha. Now, I've used the starter to make my own scoby's and now I have a great setup. I would recommend buying extra containers from fermentaholics because it gets addicting mixing and matching different flavors from each brew.”
“Its a perfect starting scoby. Its perfect. Made two delicious batches of kombucha so far and Im ordering another scoby and jar set to make bigger batches since a co worker offered to buy 6 bottles a week from me because he loved it.My favorite flavor I make so far is strawberry with fresh Thai basil and mint. I use normal basil sometimes if I cant get Thai but Thai basil has more flavor.”
“Extremely easy to get started. I was nervous about trying something new. My first batch was great and the directions couldn't have been any easier to follow. Now I have quality stuff at a fraction of the price. Give it a try”
