“This charger is a big improvement over the stock 1A charger for my Apollo Ghost 2022. James wrote in another review: "It doesn't stop charging exactly where it should, it tends to stop at around 85-87% when I set it to 80%, but that's fine." This is false as lithium ion batteries' charge capacities are not linearly related to voltage. For example, an 18650 3.7V battery is fully charged at 4.2V AND the saturation portion of the charge is complete. When the battery is at 4.0V it's actually at around 75% capacity. The Ghost has 14 18650 batteries, and when I set this charger to 80% charge selection, the charger terminates at 56.1V. 56.1/14=4V per cell which is roughly 80% charged if not a little less. I always charge to 80% at 1A to preserve my battery pack. I'll charge to 100% at 1A the night before a long ride so as to give the batteries a chance to cool down and rest, which also preserves the battery health.”
“This is def worth the money. not only does a second charger allow you to charge both ports at the same time, decreasing the charge time by half, plus it is 70 percent faster than the standard charger that comes with the scooter. Turning your charge time from 8 hours to a lil over 2 hours was the best I was able to get from 0 to 100% charge. It also allows you to change the power of the charge with a 1 to 5 setting, which is good for maintaining your overall battery life expectancy if you have the time to charge it on a lower setting (1, being the lowest).”
