“I have now had to send back 2nd replacment scooter. First scooter out of the box had motor issues. Second scooter after 16 miles starting making same noise. I don't have any faith for the longevity of this Chinese scooter. I didn't want to spend even more money to upgrade to better scooter. Hopefully the 3rd scooter will last a few more miles.”
Hi Sean - We are very sorry you are having a bad experience. That you have to return the second scooter is unfortunate. Rest assured we will get you up and scooting on your new Horizon asap. BR
“I got the Horizon scooter 6 months ago and so far has been working great, I haven't had any issues, battery last for long time, the scooter is fast and fun to ride”
“Better than the Xiaomi, the clones and my hiboy s2. Was delivered in under 3 days. Set up was a breeze. They even sent me a multi-flip tool with more than one needs for minor assembly for the scooter. I have yet to hit 25 MPH. Downhill was 24 MPH. Has great climbing power at 18 MPH easy. Feels solid bumps are not felt like my other scooter. I bought the 10.4 AH version but if you have the money, buy the 13+ AH version. My gripe is just an echo of the rest. Kickstand feels a bit low and the charging port could have been in less vulnerable spot. Other than this, the scooter is badass and the price was worth it. Paid $6.99.30 including tax.”
“This is a great looking and feeling scooter. However, the speed never got up to 25 MPH and the range for me riding around Hoboken NJ is around 10 miles on mode 3 (Fastest mode). I think this is a great buy nevertheless and it is worth the price.”
“The horizon is exactly what I needed. It's a great balance of consumer friendly, yet very powerful. This was my first scooter. It's a great introduction for someone like me who wanted to dip their toes into e-scooter riding and adventuring. Perhaps in a few more months I'll upgrade to a more heavy duty model, but for now this is perfect. PS) it came with a bell included in the handlebar.”
“First the positives. This scooter has got some punch! At around 255, I'm not the easiest rider to push around, but my Horizon does a really nice job of it. At top gear I've managed to hover around 23-24 Mph, which is plenty. Going up fairly steep ramps in my work parking structure, I get a sustained 10-11, which again is quite acceptable. The ride is also solid but with just enough give that I don't feel like I'm taking a pounding while riding. The display is clear, bright and easy to use. Kickstand is set in a reasonable location where it doesn't get in the way of anything. Handle bars are solid, of a good width for a nice stable ride. Lighting is adequate, though not what I'd strictly consider much more than just ok. Folding is easy and relatively quick, considering you have to slow down a bit to unscrew the handle bars - which itself is worth it. Rear wheel drive is a plus, making for smoother steering and control on the lighter front end.
Now for the negatives - and while none of them are even close to being show stoppers, they do somewhat take away from the ideal scooter experience. First, the finger trigger throttle - I really don't like it. Would MUCH rather it had been a thumb throttle, as the natural tendency is to grab it when you're picking up the bars. Combined with rear wheel drive, that could result in a fairly serious accident with this heavy beast. While we're on the control unit, I find it odd that it starts by default in 3rd gear. Would rather it start in 1st for safety purposes. Going back to the kickstand... I wish it were just a tad longer. Leaning the scooter on it puts the scooter a bit too far on its side, tempting it to fall. Another cm or so might make it perfect. While we're down there, let's talk about the power port. Could it have been placed in a dumber location? Since it's located on the front left edge of the base, you can't charge the unit without turning the front wheel. And since the plug seems to only want to insert in a particular way, it creates more fuss than there should be when simply plugging it in. A more conventional barrel connector port on the side with slide cover would have been much, much better. Another minor issue is with the stability of the front bar while folded. Other scooters allow you to lock it into place, preventing it from twisting around when folded down. Not this one. That makes the matter of carrying or stowing it a bit awkward - especially at over 40 pounds. Like the power port and kickstand, this just seems like a no-brainer to me.
Had the most vital features of this scooter been any less than stellar, the negatives would have knocked my rating down to a 2 or 3 at this price point, but in fairness, the power and ride were the premiums for me. So with some room for improvement, I'd put this model at about 3.8, rounded up to 4 out of 5 stars. Good, not great, but still recommended for anyone who is a bit on the heavy side and needs that extra power and suspension.”
“excellent in all aspects i love what ordered, if there was something to complain about it would be weight but for something so solid its going to have heft”
“This thing is fun! It's perfect for 1st scooter or stepping up a little bit. It has good speed.
I'm 210lb and it gets up to 24 mph
