“A good solid scooter overall, with improvements this could be a great scooter.
Superior suspension compared to others scooters, however beware that the handle locking threads come loose and must constantly be retightened to prevent them coming apart. Top speed on flat ground is actually 21-22mph, not 25 as advertised.
Overall good value scooter, you will be satisfied.”
“Great scooter for someone who wants a little more power than an entry level scooter, but doesn't need an absolute beast. The only criticisms I have is that the manual for the scooter doesn't make it very clear that you need to push the release lever all the way down once you unfold it to fully lock the stem, so the first time I rode it, I wiped out, because it wasn't fully locked. I contacted Fluid, and they told me they would update their manual right away to make it more clear how to lock it, and they also sent me a free headlight as a way of saying sorry. Great customer service! This issue is something for purchasers to be aware of though, as it could be potentially dangerous until they update the manual. Since locking it properly though, I haven't had a single problem, and it's a smooth and fast ride. My other complaint is that the scooter doesn't include a horn, so you have to buy one yourself. They are cheap, though, so it's not a huge deal. Overall, very happy with my purchase after having owned it a few weeks!”
“Pros:
* Wicked fast. Lives up to the claimed 25 mph on a straight wind-free road. Can get even higher downhill and/or with tailwind. Even with a mild uphill angle - easily gobbles 20-22.
* Great build and construction. Feels solid and stable. I personally see the fact that it's quite heavy as a plus (stability).
* Reasonable price.
* Great breaking system.
* Good distance.
Cons:
* The one thing I would like to see improved is suspension. You can feel those potholes! That said - given the price, it wouldn't be very reasonable to expect much more in that domain. I had the chance to drive one other scooter ($500) on the same roads - the Horizon beats it in suspension and stability, by far.
* Not so easy to fold (requires some force). I don't mind - I won't be folding mine anyway.
* Weight - if portability is an issue. To me the weight is a plus.
Would be nice to have:
* Turning lights
* A separate button to increase and decrease speed modes. If I want to go from 3 to 2, I need to pass through 1.
* An easier way to change modes using the thumb (different location) - right now it's a bit cumbersome doing so while holding the trigger.
All in all - a terrific scooter! I'm very happy with it. I drive it 2 miles each way to work, and am enjoying every inch of it!”
“So this is difficult and sad. I love the scooter. It is my second one however as the first one had a bad rear brake drum There are so many things that can and will and are going on with this Chinese scooter. I have had it a couple months and the throttle broke. Sent then and email yesterday and they have yet to reach out to me to help remedy the problem. If abs when they do I'll update this review. 2 scooters. 2 problems. $700. Ouch!”
“I waited a long time between pre-order and the arrival of this awesome scooter but it was well worth the wait. It meets or exceeds all standards and specs it lays out on FFRs website, it gets me where I need to be in almost the same amount of time as my car, and it's a blast to ride. If I had one negative to speak to, it's that the front fork is a little squeaky. You should buy this one if you're on the fence. Value greatly exceeds price here.”
“The horizon is an awesome bang for you buck in terms of power, weight, and ride quality. I would definitely recommend to people on a budget needing something portable. Can't give 5 stars only because the rear wheel is solid instead of pneumatic like the front which reduces ride quality and braking ability. If they ever release a version with a rear pneumatic tire it would be 5 stars.”
“This smooth machine glides through the concrete jungle with enough zip to plaster a smile on anyone's face. This scooter is a great value compared to any other scooter under 1K, and it will give anybody looking for an alternative way to commute to work, a nice excuse to forget about the daily grind.”
“I did a *lot* of research around the sub-$1000 range of scooters after owning an entry level scooter of another brand. The Horizon gives me the range that I need to make my 14 mile round trip at speeds that get me there in half the time. In particular, I have a large but fairly gentle slope up on the inbound trip and the Horizon handles it easily. Dual suspension keeps the ride smooth and controlled, and the large handlebars give me confidence on the road. Low center of gravity keeps things stable at speed, which the Horizon has plenty of.
Small nitpicks: the kickstand is a hair short, and it feels tippy when resting on it. Front headlight is good for making people see you in low-light, but not enough to ride by. Such minor things on such a fantastic piece of hardware are hardly worth mentioning. If you want to beef up your scooting experience beyond base level, this is the step up you need.”
