“I was looking to upgrade from my Gotrax Gmax Ultra electric scooter, as I needed a much better suspension and longer range. My BF has a Varla Eagle One scooter, and that scooter runs out of battery life way too soon. Also, his Varla has too many issues with the stem latching mechanism. I will say, my Nami does not disappoint. I haven't needed to unscrew the latching mechanism since we put it together, so I can only comment that there is no play in the stem... AT ALL. I love the adjustable suspension, and was able to adjust it just right for my taste. And the dampener is awesome. I was able to adjust it so it wouldn't wobble while going too fast, or too slow.
It took me about 3 days to adjust to the new scooter, and I'm loving every minute I use it. I use it for errands, shopping, getting ice-cream, visiting San Francisco, commuting 4.1 miles (one way) to work (when I go to the office), and just about any other reason I can think of, when I leave the house. My BF has asked to borrow it when he needs to run an errand and I'm not using it... Hehehe... while he leaves his Varla in the garage.
I do quite a bit of night riding, so the headlight, side lights and rear light keep me visible to vehicles on the road. I did add an extra rear light and front rainbow light, just for extra visibility, but it really wasn't necessary. I also wear a back pack with turn signals, and prefer to use that, instead of the low signal lights that come on the Nami. I just prefer that people see which direction I'm going in, as close to eye level as possible.
My BF has gotten it up to 40 mph, but that's just too fast and only possible on longer stretches of smooth road. Personally, I have gotten it up to 36 mph and yes, I relished the fact that I left the BF and his Varla choking on my dust. He's so jealous and keeps reminding me he'll buy his Nami soon. But, these speeds are unnecessarily fast for my daily use. I keep it in the 20-24 mph range, and average about 75-80 miles of range per charge, depending on my load weight and terrain, when I'm out and about. I don't stress about hauling a heavy bag or box anymore. No more slow or stalled climbs when I'm out in San Francisco!! If I can find a way to attach my bike trailer to the rear axle, I might try that. We'll see if I have room with the nut.
When I first received the Nami, the front and rear fender were both cracked. There was also a deep scratch on the rear foot rest area. I emailed support with pictures and they were quick to respond with a shipment of replacement fenders, as well as my choice of an accessory to make up for the scratch. I chose a fast charger. I will say, I received the wrong rear fender. But, when I reached back out with more pictures and explained that I needed the second part of the rear fender, they were quick to get the correct part shipped out to me.
Oh, I almost forgot to mention, the 2 strips of grip tape on the deck are not that great in quality. Both strips are heavily rubbed off. Not a big deal, I'll look for grip tape with a pretty purple color in it, as a replacement. It was just a surprise to see the grains rubbed off so quickly and easily.
I now have a complete and beautiful Nami, especially with all the purple accessories I added... Purple ergo grips, black waterproof front stem bag, black phone holder, purple aluminum deck and disk bolts, purple reflective tape on the rims, purple aluminum stem valve caps and a little red converse shoe on the kickstand (major head turner). A new purple shoe is on the way. I am so happy I took the plunge and purchased the Ferrari of scooters :)”
“I bought a cheaper one before the Burn E 2 Viper that was rated for 260lbs. I'm 255 lbs. and my first one bottoms out on small bumps. I wish I had bought the Burn E 2 first !! The suspension is adjustable which is necessary for 200 plus sized people. I absolutely love this ride !! My friends are jealous. It's amazing !”
“I bought my Burn-e 2 at the Brooklyn store about a month ago and couldn't be happier with my purchase. I also have a Wolf King GT and wanted to get another scooter so my girlfriend could tag along. The Wolf King is a little faster but the Nami's handling and build really put it to shame. I plan to sell the Wolf King for a 2nd Nami this winter, thats how awesome it is. I decided to go with Fluidfreeride based on reviews I read online about their customer service. Chuck was extremely helpful and answered all 1 million of my questions. I couldn't recommend a better company to purchase from, buy with confidence. Thank you”
“Semi-new to the scooter community and only had my first one a few weeks before I was ready to upgrade to this machine. I call it my tactical scooter but it is very forgiving and easy to adjust too in no time. Very beginner friendly with all the advanced settings and modes. Happy with it so far and I don't think I will need another scooter as I will grow into this one. Easy transaction and shipping was great.”
“Growing up with a four wheeler and dirt bike gave me a bit of an adrenaline junky side. After moving into the city I missed that freedom but this scooter replaces that in spades! It takes some getting used to the weight and only time will tell on the durability of parts/battery etc... Mine did show up with brake rotors bent up pretty good. There's a few YouTube videos on how to straighten them yourself or you can just buy new ones. I did it DIY. Highly recommend for urban folks looking for an exciting toy that isn't a motorcycle. Handlebars are pretty wide too so combined with the weight be sure your living situation is conducive to getting bikes in and out. Automatic doors and elevators are almost a must. Hope this helps.”
