It's certainly not what we would expect from a new product of ours. We do take quality control seriously so it's disappointing your hose reel arrived in this condition.
Earlier today a replacement was posted out from our warehouse as a priority to get this to you as quickly as possible. We are confident this is a one off issue and you will soon be very happy with your new Evolve hose reel.

“Still early days as only just finished mounting and first use today! Retraction is smooth and easy, little bit disappointed in the pressure loss, but all in all will do me fine!”
“Unfortunately our unit has a water leak coming from the sealed compartment. I rang Hoselink and without any hesitation a replacement unit is on its way. I realise that sometimes new products can have little problems. I cannot fault the customer service.”
“Excellent product. Once installed very easy to use. Just pull the hose to required length to water. When finished a gentle tug will cause it to rewind by itself.
I already have 3 of these before adding a fourth one.
