“I replaced my classic with the evolve, installed it, came home that afternoon to water all over the front yard. The weak little cover plate cap near the hose connection just blew off and wasted a couple of thousands of litres of water. Hose link were great in getting a replacement sent out right away. Now the replacement unit has a horrible sound when dispensing or retracting hose. It's still working, but based on the noise I'm not sure for how long. I'm careful with my gear and for the price of these things I expect better. The general quality of the plastics, fit and finish seem a step behind the classic too, too much cost cutting.”

I was directed to a YouTube clip as to the actions I needed to take to fix the leak. (Disassemble the fitting, cut the hose squarely and rejoin).

It’s a solidly constructed hose reel with a very positive but dampened retraction system.
I am impressed that the hose lays true when retracted which has been a problem with other systems I’ve previously purchased.
The hose itself is top quality and does not kink. A most annoying problem with other hoses and the positive method of connecting the spray nozzle etc is excellent.
