“My farm in Kentucky is a tick cluster,I have alpha gal (red meat allergy)it's from tick bits from the lone star tick,I've had it for three years,it's finally getting better,Doctor said it will go away on its own in or before 5 years but if I get another tick bite it may never go away, had my clothes treated and got my golden retriever a shirt haven't seen a tick since I used your service, this may lead to a normal life eating meat and dairy again,if you live in the south do your self a favor and treat your clothes.”
“To be able to send in the clothes you want treated and have them returned treated, with "Insect Shield" stamped or stitched on your clothing is an ingenious creation!”
“I'm a wildlife biologist mostly working on eastern Long Island where there is a very high population of deer and lone star ticks and a very high incidence of tick-related illnesses. I've been using insect shield clothing for over five years to keep me safe. The cotton canvas cargo pants are also very durable, an important factor in my field work that involves a lot of bushwhacking through thickets. Just had a pair retreated earlier this winter in time for the 2022 field season: surveying for river otters and spotted turtles. Insect Shield gear is the best!”
“I’ve retreated my favorite gear after the previous treatment a few years ago. I just came back from Panama where others encountered ticks and chiggers. I had no issues.
I do see insects walking on my pant legs every now and then without being obviously bothered. But I have never gotten ticks or mosquitoes so it works where it matters.”
“Having some of my husband's outerwear treated has made such a difference - mosquitoes loved him and really limited his time outdoors.
Now we can even sit around a campfire at night and not be bothered.
The process was easy and very fast turnaround.”
“Insect Shield has a lot of good clothes and equipment, but I have some finicky preferences in such as pant styles. So, their service of treat your own clothes was a spot on perfect service choice for me. To the point I have used it several times. The process is straightforward, reasonably priced, and quick to have your own choice of clothes permanently bug proofed. No smell, no stain, no problems. Washable, wearable, perfect.
I have personal experience of watching mosquitoes, ticks, etc. decide to be elsewhere than on my Insect Shield "Treat Your Clothes" pants, and other clothing. I dislike spraying poisons on myself, or even near me so this built in protection is perfect for me. Thank you, Insect Shield!”
“I hunt with a grand little pack of 18 beagles here in Ohio. Over the last 20 years, likely due to Climate Change, several species of tiny ticks have invaded southern Ohio. I can find products to protect the hounds, but I was getting ticks on me personally every time I was in the woods, even in winter. So I sent two pairs of my brush pants to Insect Shield a few months ago and have not had a tick on me since! Amazing service/product they have - now tick diseases are not a worry for me!”
“Insect Shield is available on almost no outdoor gear. I think this is criminal. Insect-borne diseases can be awful and deadly. All clothing I buy, except for office, I send after one washing to be treated by Insect Shield. And I send it to be retreated after every year of use. I have seen it work. Ticks and mosquitoes slow down when in contact with Insect Shield clothing, giving you a fighting chance to avoid disease, especially if the gear is light colored, and tucked in all around. The Insect Shield treatment is far preferable to attempting to use the available fabric sprays that the outdoor stores push when I ask for protective gear: the spray wears off rapidly, potentially poisoning your outdoor environment (the other bugs and fish are my friends) without protecting you for long. I have written complaints to the big outdoor vendors: they obviously don't care if their customers live or die. Insect Shield does.”
