“All the incense I've used in the past has been the kind you just light, blow out the flame and it starts to smoke until it is finished. Obviously this is a bit different. It has a pretty strong scent even without burning it and you could just let it sit around the house somewhere to get the aroma going.Since I didn't have an actual proper burner for it, I just put it in an old fashioned incense burner and set it on fire. It produced quite a flame and a lot of smoke but didn't burn the house down. While that is not the ideal way to use it, it gets the job done and smokes up the room a bit. The scent is lasting and spread throughout the apartment. If you use this and burn it the proper way or just improvise and set it on fire, you better like the scent because it does linger for quite a while. Fortunately I found the scent quite nice. From now on, I think I'll most likely stick to the sticks and cones of incense and leave this type to the experts. If you have the proper burning equipment, this is a strong, pleasant, and very nice scent to have wafting throughout the room or house.”
“My wife asked me to order this for her because she thought it was a candle. Years ago, her girlfriend would burn oud, and she loved the fragrance. She had no idea how it was burned, she just liked it a lot. She also told her it was very expensive. When I ordered this and received it, it was little fragments and bits in a plastic jar. Turns out, you will need to get a burner/charcoal to use this.We don't have what it takes to properly burn this and will have to further research and find what to order. In the meantime, my wife has opened the bag, left the top off of the jar, and is letting the fragrance permeate the house. Lovely woodsy, cedarwood fragrance. For now, we are thoroughly enjoying it that way. The price is very affordable, considering it is oud. Also worth noting- Amazon sells a kit with a burner and charcoal. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0792ZKN5G/ref=sspa_dk_hqp_detail_aax_0?psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUE5MTdXMldQVzVSWDEmZW5jcnlwdGVkSWQ9QTAxMjM0MDYzTVMyUVVTQjdBWjBBJmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTA0NDc0MDEzSEpNMzU4Q0M1N1VXJndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfaHFwX3NoYXJlZCZhY3Rpb249Y2xpY2tSZWRpcmVjdCZkb05vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU=”
“Very enjoyable and relaxing scent. It’s very different from diffusers but really gets the scent flowing quickly throughout the house. Four Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!!!”
“I have never used this type of incense before and was curious to see what it is like. Apparently you have to have a special burner for it but honestly I dont even need to heat it . The scent is so strong I could just leave it in an open container and it will fill the room. It leaves a lingering smell and residue on whatever it touches so be careful after handling and what you set it on. The price point is a little too rich for me for some incense but if you are really into the heavy scents and have a burner for it then this could be suited for you.”
“I love burning resins and woods on top of charcoal discs and in exotic incense burners, so I was sure that I would love burning this and enjoying the fragrance. This blend simply didn't appeal to me. The floral rose element had a dusty note that simply made the air stale as opposed to fresh. Not what I expect from Swiss Arabian, a company that puts out some gorgeous perfumes that I simply adore.Fragrance is subjective, your nose might interpret this in a completely different way. For me, it was disappointing.”
“I’ve used many kinds of incense but nothing like this. This is rather messy and oily, very VERY concentrated but all I smell is rose rose and more rose and I’m not crazy about the smell of roses. It’s so heavy and overwhelming I had to open the windows. If you don’t love the smell of rose like me, this is definitely not for you. I didn’t care for the smell or the fact that this is not easy to use. You can’t break off a small piece and the smallest piece was way too much. The pieces feel like wood covered in resins and oils but a very little goes a long way and lingers in the room for two days and the pieces are just too big. It burns on charcoal tablets very quickly with very heavy smoke and then it’s done in a flash. I have a large open floor plan home and the smallest piece in the bag was too much for me, this would drive you out of a small space. This really bothered my dog, she was sneezing and rubbing her nose on the floor and finally ran out of the room. This is very expensive and way too strong on the rose scent for me. If you love rose, this is for you.”
“This comes packaged in a plastic bag in a jar. You need to burn it on charcoal.I love good incense, as does my entire family, and this is simply the best I've ever smelt. I usually like Nag Champa from Satya, and some HEM incenses, as well as custom powder blends that we make ourselves. This is very only but it doesn't burn black, it burns White. There's very little smoke smell that I can even detect. It smells quite floral and exotic, but more like a field of fresh flowers and roses then any heavy incense smell that I'm used to. At one point, it smelled like a field of roses and honeysuckle, which I suppose was geranium since it was so sweet. There's a sweet woodiness that supports it and it's a very balanced beautiful scent. I burnt three small chunks and it permeated the entire front of my house, about a thousand feet of floorspace in this area, I think, so it's very potent. However sitting right next to it I never found it overpowering! I would buy this again for special days-I can think of nothing better to send a handfasting, Beltane, or MidSummer's Eve gathering. I am so glad that I got to try this. It's really been beautiful.”
