“I like everything about the new GK+ Blood Glucose & Ketone Meter Kit, except for one major thing, and that is the individually wrapped strips. They are hard to open and get out! I've already lost one strip due to it being bent trying to get it out and consequently it errored out on the meter and wouldn't give me a reading. One other thing I'm not a fan of is that I had to buy a whole new meter even though I had a perfectly good one. But because I ran out of testing strips, I found that the new strips won't work with the old meter, so I had to invest in a new one. Seems unfair. That being said, it is wonderful technology to be able to test glucose/ketone levels at home. But it is expensive to be forced to upgrade. I hope it doesn't happen again. And please give the option to purchase strips in the easy open little canisters. So much better, and I never had any trouble with their accuracy. Thank you.”
“Having just started on my own Keto journey, I needed the GK+ Blood Glucose & Ketone Meter Kit to show me what was working, what wasn't working. The GK+ works wonderful and I was able to see my Glucose go from high 100's, to under 100, and my Ketone's go from 0.3 to over 1. And after getting the email about testing for which foods trigger me out of Ketosis, I am working on discovering those triggers.”
“Ordering was easy, shipping was prompt, the instructions are clear, and the blood glucose readings are within 2-3% of my previous meter so it works and does the job. The test strip prices are quite good, so the ongoing cost will be low compared to many other meters. However, the GK+ requires a much larger blood droplet to fill the end of the test strip compared to my old Walmart Relion unit, maybe 2-3 times the diameter or say 10 to 20 times the volume of blood. That requires noticeably more "kneading" to push blood to the fingertip before the stick, a deeper setting on the lancet, and consequently more bruising after each stick. I went back and read everything I could find on the KetoMojo website and instruction manual and as far as I can tell they don't actually give the required droplet volume so I guess I wasn't a sufficiently diligent shopper. Also, I'm in the minority but I was disappointed that no logbook was included so I could write my readings down since I don't use apps.”
“This company sends way too many emails. I got a dozen before the device even arrived. Maybe ship your stuff in a more reasonable time and send fewer emails.”
“First time ever testing my blood since being diagnosed less than a month ago. Very easy to use and the sticks are literally painless. Still need to learn about the ketone readings but very happy with the glucose readings. The videos helped a lot for someone like me who is very new to this.”
