“I love the new meter. It’s taking a bit to become familiar with the apps that go along with it. I don’t like the packaging of the strips. I have MS and the packaged strips are difficult for me to open. And then there’s all the trash to throw away.”
“The meter appears to be accurate and straightforward to use. The strip release button is on the back and would be better positioned on the right side. The strips are easy to use as well. There appears to be about a 10% wastage of strips where the device gives an error code requiring a discard of the strip and replacement of a new one.”
“I had never used a glucose/ketone meter before and this is easy. I am using it everyday. I really like the bundle with the added strips and the free 3 months of The Fasting Method. I have learned a lot in a short period of time about my glucose and ketones.”
“I’m glad I took advantage of the upgrade. I find the meter easy to use and like how it syncs up with your phone for tracking. I do understand why some people have issues with the strips because they can be a little more difficult to access versus just popping a lid like the old ones. If you are debating about purchasing this for the first time or recycling your old monitor I’d say go for it you won’t be disappointed.”
“I like that the newer strips don’t need as much blood, and the new lancer isn’t as flimsy as the one I had. Overall I like my née meter even if I’m not fully good at using it yet. My only complaint is I don’t like how the strips are individually wrapped now. I feel like that’s a lot of waste with the wrapper. I’d prefer mine in a little conatinwr like before.”
“First, let's talk about the Combo Strips. Exceptionally difficult to remove the strip from the foil packet and very time consuming. Second. the ergonomics of the monitor are just wrong. The place to insert the strip is awkward. I traded up to a total dud. My GK+ Meter and Combo strips are going directly into the (biohazard) trash. The original monitor and strips are so much easier to use. What a waste of time and money!”
“I love the meter but the test strips are hard to unpack. I already returned my other unit. I was surprised the lance size is slightly smaller, I continue to use the old lance until all the needle are consumed.”
