“Lecithin (a natural and essential component of the cells) is a product that I’ve periodically used over the years for its alleged healthful properties, but purely as a food supplement rather than as a thickening and emulsifying agent. I was recently looking at it in one of the local shops and wondering whether to buy it again so it’s great to test it here from KIKI Health.I believe lecithin as a supplement is worth considering, and being here in powder form it’s naturally free from additives and particularly suitable for mixing into liquids. I tried manually mixing it into a little goat’s milk and it didn’t mix in as well as other powders from the range, but was soon rectified with an electric blender (which is how I’ve always mixed lecithin so it isn’t unusual here). Once mixed, it has a pleasant flavour without being too prominent so can be used in a variety of ways without being obtrusive. As I neither bake nor eat baked goods I can’t comment upon its effectiveness there, but it may find it’s way into homemade soups in the winter to add a little consistency if I still have any left. As per the KIKI Health range in general, I very much appreciate the organic purity of the product, the non-GMO status and other positive attributes, and also the darker bottle to preserve the nutrient value of the contents. A popular source of lecithin is egg yolks but for various reasons not everyone might want to consume eggs so it’s handy being available from soybeans, a vegan source. “A tub of 200g of Lecithin Powder that is used as a thickener. This Lecithin is made from Soy.I use it when making home-made milk chocolates! It is good at binding with any moisture/humidity in the process of making Chocs. Water makes it grainy, sandy...A very small amount of Lecithin added during the tempering process is all that is required to have a nice gloss and far less grainy chocolates. I stopped buying chocolates over 4.5 years ago. The recipes/ingredients in all chocs in UK changed to have High Fructose Corn Syrup. Human, mammal bodies know what to do with Sugar but are clueless when it comes to the wrong isomer of man-made fructose. This results in body turning 100% consumed into Adipose (FAT). HFCS used to have a quota Limit! Now it is in everything. Horrible nasty vile and highly addictive. With Home-made Chocolates, I get Real Sugar and real other ingredients with nothing being made by treating corn waste products with enzymes to make more (wrong isomer) of Fructose! Lecithin can be used in other foods as a thickening agent. It works very well.”
