Very strong smell. I wanted to try this organic black seed oil because it promises a wide variety of health benefits and I can also put it on my head to help my hair grow better. I am happy to try supplements from Kiki Health because they appear to be a reputable company with a wide retail presence. The Soil Association organic certification, which I have checked, is reassuring. The oil is yellow and smells strongly like tea tree oil. It tastes strongly herbal, perhaps like rosemary. I’m not all that keen on swallowing it neat and think I might have preferred capsules. The recommended dose is 1 teaspoon (per day?), which means that the bottle should last 25 days. The bottle does not pour as well as it might (the top is not the same as pictured in the listing, see my photo), so it’s easy to get oil on your fingers or on the outside of the bottle. The best before date is December 2027, more than three years away, which is great. These are just my initial observations after a couple of doses. If I have anything to report after using more of the product, then I will update this review, however I do not expect to observe any obvious changes.

Best blackseed cold pressed oil. Easily the best tasting on amazing, I've gone through a bunch of them as I find the benefits for someone over 40 to be a no brainer for my daily routine but some have tasted very bad quality. This is by far the best

Very strong, pungent and potent. I tested two different brands of organic black seed oil, side-by-side. This one, and one made by Benatura. Out of the two, this one had by far the strongest flavour, which I presume also means it has the highest percentage of the active compound thymoquinone. This Kiki Health one has 2.4%, whereas the Benatura one has an undisclosed amount of over 2%. I could definitely taste the extra potency in this one, and in actual fact this one is also slightly better value for money, as the bottle has 25% more oil than the Benatura one does. Black seed oil offers a whole host of amazing health benefits, so it’s well worth adding to your daily routine if you can. However, it’s not recommended for young children, pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, or people with low blood pressure. The only negative I could find with this product is how it’s dispensed. The product description says it has a special cap to preserve the oil and reduce wastage. This left me completely unprepared for the gushing flow that came out of the bottle when I only slightly tipped it up. My bottle certainly doesn’t have this “special cap” on it. The cap on my bottle is a terrible design, especially if you only want to use just a few drops on your skin. The Benatura product had a glass pipette, allowing you to apply controlled drops onto your skin. This bottle lets the oil quickly flow out all over the place, so be careful when tipping it up. I wasted some that gushed out past the spoon and down the sink. This oil can be used internally and externally. If you plan to add some onto food, a cold salad is ideal, to prevent heat from hot food destroying the health beneficial active compounds. You can also add it into smoothies. This brand tastes really powerful, having a strong spicy peppery flavour with a bitter edge. You can feel a gentle warming sensation as it goes down. It’s not a taste everyone will enjoy, and the taste can repeat on you for a while, but I don’t mind it all . You can always add a bit of sweetness with some maple syrup or honey in a salad dressing, or before you drink it. You can also rub the oil directly into the skin, although the smell is rather strong. It smells much like it tastes, incredibly pungent and something along the lines of a wood treatment product. I have a bad wrist at the moment, so I rubbed some of this oil into it. It sinks into the skin very easily, leaving it feeling more soft than greasy. After a few minutes, I started to feel a very pleasant gentle heat building where I had applied it, which felt really relieving on my wrist. This product is cold pressed, organic, and unrefined. It has a long best before date of over two years, which is printed on the base of the bottle. Once opened, you should store the bottle in the fridge, to retain freshness and potency. The dosage is 1 x 5ml teaspoon once per day if taking internally, or a small amount rubbed into the skin, as and when required. You can also massage a few drops into your hair to seal in moisture and prevent breakage. I really like both of the brands of oil I tested, and would find it difficult to choose a favourite, as they both have certain aspects that are better than the other.

Strong, fresh and properly potent. I have been using this KIKI Health Organic Black Seed Oil (125ml) for several weeks now and it’s clearly a high-quality product. First impressions: the oil has a deep amber colour and a very distinctive, peppery aroma. It smells fresh rather than rancid, which is important with cold-pressed oils. The bottle is dark glass, which helps protect the oil from light, and the cap seals properly with no leaks. Taste & strength: This is definitely strong. It has a sharp, slightly bitter, peppery taste typical of high-strength black seed oil. It’s not mild or diluted, which to me suggests good potency (it’s labelled 2.4% thymoquinone). If you’re new to black seed oil, be prepared for that intensity. How I take it: I use a small spoon daily. The texture is smooth, not overly thick, and it doesn’t leave an unpleasant oily coating for too long.Helpful tip: If you struggle with the taste, keep the bottle in the fridge so the oil is cold when you take it, it makes it much easier to tolerate. I also chew a small piece of fresh ginger afterwards, which cleanses the palate quickly and removes the aftertaste.
