“The boots were delivered covered in a white powder that was so difficult to remove (and I'm still unable to) - really poor start for what is meant to be a premium brand. I bought black boots that were meant to appear polished on the website but look cheap market goods instead.”

I am so sorry about the delay in my reply. You are are seeing in your boots a process known as ?blooming?. This is when the insoluble particles in the natural rubber mix rise to the surface under certain conditions. The better quality the rubber, the more likely this process will occur. It will not affect the performance in any way, nor is it faulty. It should come out easily (but not with water alone) by buffing the boots. We recommend that you use a rubber spray and a bit of polish, buffing with a sponge or good polish cloth. Blooming does show up more on black styles than on other colours, and, as a natural process, it will reoccur, but, if it does, you can maintain the smooth black look of your boots by keeping them buffed.
