Thanks for sharing this Paula. It's also great in baking (in a Victoria sponge it adds a wonderful flavour and caramel colour) and instead of using coconut nectar, you can dissolver Coconut Sugar with a little water and use it where you need a liquid sweetener, such as in dressings. We were taste testing some pancakes in the office last week and had a little lemon juice and a sprinkling of Coconut Sugar......delicious! Petrina

“I really love this product. It actually does have a caramel taste and add a little to my breakfast or hot choc. Not yet cooked with it but think it will be fab!! Don’t judge me but I could actually just eat it off the spoon!”

“A perfect sugar alternative. It's sweeter than sugar but in a natural way. It is very much a caramel kind of flavour. It works perfectly with baking and in hot drinks. We don't buy any sugar anymore, we only have this in our house.”

“Recently decided to try this as I can't altogether give up sugar yet but this is a better option than granulated as it is low GL. Not quite as sweet but that's good to retrain taste buds. Good in coffee and recipes that need sugar.”

Hi Lynn, thank you for your review. It has a GI of 35, so you are exactly right - Sugar is sugar but when you have it, it is better to indulge in a natural alternative. It is the perfect replacement to refined sugar and a little goes a long way with its caramel flavour in dishes, bakes and drinks. Jess :)
