“This is a great way to keep your MacBook going longer. Our 2015 MBP was perfectly fine other than the battery, it now lives on for a few more years. The install was not easy but quite doable if you are patient. There are other guides online which might short cut the process but I went along with the supplied instructions and used the opportunity to learn about the insides and do some cleaning as I went. Took about 2 hours. Laptop booted up fine. Did the recommended battery conditioning and has been going strong ever since.”

“I'll be honest and did not completely dismantle the Macbook to replace the battery as the instructions show. Instead I was able to remove the battery by just disconnecting it and the trackpad cable...Thats it.
The battery cells were rather swollen and already lifting at the adhesive edges. By gently rocking a loyalty card side to side over a period of about 30 minutes the battery cells slowly lifted out without using any disolve liquid.
The middle two over the trackpad were slower going but eventually came away. Gentle traction upward while rocking the card allowed the cells to lift slowly.
When the kit arrived I used the disolve solution to remove traces of the adhesive then inserted the new battery and had the computer fired up in 15 minutes.
The 95 steps listed in the enclosed instructions came down to about 10”

“My MBP2014 (mid 2015, 15" 2.5 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7) went through 3 x battery changes/swaps since Jan'21 through a 3rd party repairer in Sydney.
Each battery (Simplo included) lasted only 1 to 2 months MAX and would drop from 100% to 7% when in use (google it - it's the sign of a faulty/bad battery - even a new one).
I gave up (not the repairers fault ... just that the world is happy to live with poor quality these days with people like you and I beta testing for battery manufacturers in China who only want your money and couldn't care less)..
So ordered the NewerTech 95W from Macfixit and installed it myself.
The packaging is well thought out with all tools/parts shipped/packed wet and easy to sort-out
The instruction book showed many, many, many steps and the instruction video is worth sitting through to familiarise yourself (before you unscrew anything !!)... but I have a PC repair background and did it in 20-minutes with a few short cuts.
Well - the new battery is now installed and (some further info) ...
1. It came charged at 67% and had a cycle count of "1" .. so it had been tested at least.
2. Coconut battery app shows it to be 115% of manufacturing capacity (yes that's correct ... the charge capacity is 9896 mAh instead of the 8440 in the standard/some replacement batteries).
3. The new battery's manufacture date is March 2015.
Now you might be worried that I've installed a 6-year old battery but let me tell you... I have installed 3 x new 2020/2021 batteries and each one failed with health dropping to less than 65% in 4-5 weeks ... basically, it seems that new batteries (made in China) are crap and older batteries (when people manufactured quality or to a standard) are better!! ... it's a race to the bottom now and a lucky dip if you get a good one ... I got 3x bad ones in a row.
Long story short - BUY THIS BATTERY if you are seeing your old (or replacement MBP battery) with immediate/instant charge drops from 100%-7% when using your MBP!!!
So far so good .. it has beaten the crap out of everything else and I would buy it gain (except I won't have to as I'll probably get a good 4-5 years out of this one.
