“This fixed a completely dead battery and now I get about 3 hours between charges. For reasons I never really understood you have to strip most of the internals out, motherboard, speakers and other bits etc. Perhaps so you don't accidently spill cleaning fluid on it while trying to remove the battery adhesive. It requires a few good hours and lots of patience to do this with care, so this is not like a SSD swap out. But it gives you an opportunity to clean the dust out as you go.”
“I was concerned with how hard replacing the battery for the MacBook was going to be but all the equipment was provided along with helpful videos. “My old battery had turned into a balloon, so it had to go. The Newertech kit came with the tools needed for the job, the new battery of course and the solvent to get the old one out. Newertech have produced an excellent youtube video which steps you through the process. It is NOT a simple job as you have to strip the innards of the beast almost totally to get the battery out, but the video also includes the reassembly steps. If you are not confident, perhaps getting it done by a mac repair shop is best.”

“Apple Store refused to repair my Mid2014 MBP, alleged water damage (BS). Did it myself. New battery was all that was required, btu I took the opportunity to put in a brand new SSD and repurpose the old one as an external drive. Took me a coupl of hours, but I didn't rush. Not technically that challenging if you are careful and take your time.”
