Worth it for the updated rulebook!! The black TIES are pretty sick also. Has a few new mission scenarios as well. Looks good on my game shelf with the other cores I own. Can't beat MMs price on it either.

great addition to the world of xwing miniatures. The new xwing looks great and the Tie Fighters look awesome. Same great gameplay with a connection to the new expanded universe.

Ok, you will need to get a hold of the new damage deck for tournament play, but other than that, the new ships come with amazing abilities that can boost anyone's fleet.

The Star Wars X-Wing Core Set: The Force Awakens is quite simply a must-have for any and all X-Wing players. Nothing new here: beautifully detailed and painted ships, flawless game play, and an infinite amount of replay-ability make X-Wing my all time favorite. However, if you're going to do any tournament play you need this set. The new X-Wing's boost and do a Talon Roll, the new Tie's target lock and do S-turns. 'Nough said.

Wow!! The new x-wing looks great, and the new Ties too. The Ties are not repaints, you can see the different molds. This set is once again a value and great way to get new players into the game. What makes it great? Overall value. You get everything you need to play a small game with a friend. Ships, cards, upgrades, rule book, measurement devices. Coming from other table top mini games, this is the best for me. Pre-painted, cheap, and everything you need.

This box set is similar to the original in contents. The miniatures have different paint schemes, and of course the ship cards and tokens are different. The damage cards are a little different as well, with a few from the original box set being replaced by different cards in this one. The upgrade cards have been updated for TFA as well. I believe that Fantasy Flight Games is going to start requiring the new damage card deck in 2016 for tournament play.

A few weeks ago at the Salt Lake Comic Con I picked up my copy of this core set, and having already been playing for a year I kind of knew what to expect. I was wrong. First of all, the new T-70 is a breath of fresh air for the Rebels. Although a bit expensive points wise, it makes up for it with its abilities. The new upgrade cards are amazing, too. I recently ran Poe Dameron with BB-8, Weapons Guidance, and Marksmanship. I was impressed. I have yet to test out the TIE/fo, but from what I have heard it is a decent upgrade to the classic TIE/ln. All in all, this an excellent addition to the X-Wing game and finally brings some of the fixes that have been wanted for a long time. (P.S. I had my set was signed by Timothy Zahn and Michael Stackpole, so extra value there)
