“Good kit for learning but trying to get help from the company was very disappointing. There were points that the instructions did not match up the circuit. Checking installations, polarity and repeating the instructions did not rectify the block in the assembly. Product support form company was not available on emails to the sites listed.”
“I paid an extortive amount of money in the 90s to go to a trade school for electronics.The most memorable thing they taught me was to not waste money on trade school.The most memorable event in the school was putting together this radio kit. I think I still have mine somewhere. It's a fantastic kit for learning about how AM and FM signals move through electronic circuits, are processed, and eventually come out of the amplifier as noise.You will need an oscilloscope, at least, for testing this kit as you put it together. Tuning and adjusting selectivity are fiddly and may need a guided hand.In all, skip the school, get the kit, and read up about electronic theory online. You'll be much better off.(Note: If you can afford a full university, go to college. You'll get networking skills to get ahead in life, and won't suffer job place discrimination because you don't have a piece of paper and a mountain of debt. It also won't lock you out of leadership positions.)”

Wanted to share these pics for now.I'm giving it 5 stars now because I already know what to expect from Elenco, only the best. This model is more than a kit which is why it's a little pricey. It's a 50 page course too! It not only has the clearest step by step instructions for assembling it, better than you've seen from China, but if you want to learn how radios work and how to trouble shoot them with signal Generators, osiliscopes, and meters then this is for you. 50 pages of wealth including theory and practices.At my update after completing this I will report on sound quality and selectivity of the radio. With more pics. But for now I can only assure you you will get the most value from a kit and also expect quality parts too.”
