This was a perfect follow up to those, as it added things like loops, potentiometers, and speakers, which I hadn't worked with before.Unlike the Velleman kits, this one came with a great instruction manual that explains the functionality of the circuit, what the different parts do, a glossary, troubleshooting tips, and even quizzes.Highly recommended!”
“In attempt to solder the components onto the board and trimming the excess off the leads the tracks on the board would separate and break off the board. Unable to finish project.Edit: I was able to scrape away the coating over the tracks and reconnect three of the many broken pads that separated from the board in order to get the thing functional. Radio now works. For a solder project designed to help those like me to learn how to solder I feel I should not have had to do this. I stand by my original score of 2/5 stars. I've soldered together six velleman solder projects and never had an issue with the pcb itself. Can't say I would ever try elenco projects again unless they improve their quality.Now, the radio itself is quite finicky but that could be due to all the issues on the copper side of the board I experienced. I only fixed enough of the problems to make it functional since I didn't want to make it worse messing with it too much. The thing is incredibly loud though. I can't turn the knob past a quarter turn without it being heard from the next county. Instructions were very clear and even quiz you at the end if you're interested in that. The instructions are the only thing that got a star out of me for this review.Summary: instructions awesome. Solder project itself needs quality review of pcb board because the board is rubbish.”
“Very, very disappointed that this kit comes in a plastic bag & not a box..hoping it's not damaged as it was in a box with a ton of other stuff..The circuit board could have easily been damaged. This is a Xmas gift and if it doesn't work I will blow a gasket.Elenco you should have known better.”
