“My 18 year old put this together to learn more about soldering & electronics. He had fun doing it, and the radio worked very well. Highly recommend. The only difficulty he had was with the battery case. It was hard to get the battery out, so he suggests to be gentle with that.”
“My husband bought this for a project for him and our 7 year old grandson. It was interesting and a great project for both of them but you really should have some soldering skills. That was the most difficult part. Unfortunately one of their solders wasn't done properly because it does not work. Don't know what sheerness, thickness and warmth has to do with the review, so I didn't comment on that.”
“This kit has everything that you need to learn to solder, and was fun to make. However, the first one I made didnt work. I contacted customer service, and they sent me replacement parts for free. I rebuilt the radio, and it works great now!”
“This kit is not for beginners like myself. I think the board is too small for those of us who are inexperienced at soldering. The instructions need to be improved. They should include a basic test meter and there should be steps to test the circuits as you go rather than waiting until the end to plug the battery in at the end to see if it works. I would have also liked to see explanations of what each component is doing.I had to revise the review because after contacting the company, they were very helpful After looking at the pictures I sent them, it they said you burnt off some copper traces so I don’t think that radios going to work. I'm going to send you a new kit. Practice solder parts to that board before starting the new kit. That is great customer service. Thanks Marc”
“The kit seemed like a good deal and a good way to have fun, but the volume capacitor was faulty right out of the box.. when i turn it on, it sounds just like a metal detector, but definitely not fm radio... I wouldn't recommend kit to anyone...”
