It flies well and looks good in the sky, but there’s a few things you need to know. First, the manual states the CG is 45 mm from leading edge, which is way off. The CG is 36-37 mm, not 45mm. You need to cut the front left and right side of the battery tray so the tray will flex and you can slide the battery forward. I’m using a 2200mah battery, but it will do better with a 1800mah all the way forward. A gyro RX helps with the launch. The way I launch it is holding the fuselage in front of the wing and throwing it straight forward when there is a good breeze or a few degrees up in light wind. If you throw at it too much of an angle it will stall and crash. If not for the manual being wrong on the CG and having to cut the battery tray, I would have given it 5 stars.

I got this Jet a week ago and put it together in about an hour. It does take a little more glueing than other Freewing/Flightline models but is not difficult. My first flight was with a 2200 3 cell battery and a Hobby Eagle gyro (battery all the way forward). The F9F took off after a 15 ft run and performed flawlessIy. When I got home I decided to modify my jet with a Carbon Fiber wing spar, Not included and modified battery the compartment as well. My second flight was with a 4s 1800 and spectrum as3x receiver/gyro and the performance is crazy. With a 4s battery, I would of ripped the wings off without the carbon wing spar... I did get the landing gear and that may be why I did not have any CG issues others have had? Overall the F9F is a great little jet and a great value too. I just started ordering planes from Motion RC and I very impressed with the service, quality, value and shipping. When adding then wing spar, I cut out some foam on the wing under side. The Carbon rode fit perfectly between the vent slots and into the wing. After glueing I covered the spar with popsicle sticks and painted the stick yellow. To me, the performance between the Admiral, Hobby Eagle and Spektrum as3x is the same and work well with this jet.

I think this is n awesome plane. I did have a little trouble after the build with the setup of the wing, aileron and elevator. The plane was veering left after takeoff but, I went back to the workbench to troubleshoot. Also, the directions aren’t too deep on the receiver settings. I was able to get some help from club veterans to set expos so that the sticks were a little smoother. Finally this edf is much different than a trainer. I was not keeping power at an adequate level On my turns and unfortunately crashed.

I had one of these several years back. She was fun once you got her up to speed but during the launch her power was suspect. Got another one recently because I couldn't stay away and she seems to have much more grunt, was their a powerplant upgrade? Much easier to get her going and top end speed is impressive. Great fun from such a small package!

This was the first RC plane I ever purchased; I made the right purchase. I definitely recommend this to novice pilots or to anyone for that matter. I really can't think of anything negative worth mentioning. It was shipped asap and arrived really quickly despite selecting basic economy shipping!

I enjoyed the aircraft as a model. As a flyer, it seems to be a little tail heavy. It flew better with an 1800 3s all the way forward. Still working with it
