This model glues together with virtually no way to clamp any part without paint damage. No carbon fiber tubes to hold alignment. If using epoxy, as I do, it's possible something will misalign. After viewing videos it was apparent getting the CG correct was difficult. Using an 1800 MAH battery is an answer but there is not enough room to get it far enough forward. To remedy this the original floor from the front of the servo forward was removed. A new floor was cemented low in the nose. this enabled th CG to be spot-on. Hopefully this will make the maiden go well.

Our club puts up 6 of these Panthers at one time. We do combat flying with them. They are a blast!!!!

I purchased this kit on an impulse and was very pleasantly surprised at the fit and finish of it. I did purchase the 12 blade 4S fan unit for it and love the sound compared to the default 5 blade unit. I have not maidened it yet.

After 20 years of flying sailplanes (2M, F5J, F3K, RES) and micro warbirds and slope EPP foamies, I decided to give EDF a try. After reading recommendations in the various RC forums, I picked the Freewing F9F.It flies great. It is fast but docile, and flying at half throttle presents no bad habits and gives plenty of time to react. At full throttle loops and rolls are great and flies fast. Please note that this plane, while a great beginning EDF one, is NOT for complete beginners. I would add only 2 important things regarding the build.1. Before gluing, sand off the paint at all the areas to be glued. You want the glue to bond directly to the foam, not the paint. Otherwise, you risk having the plane come apart since you are gluing only to the paint, not the foam itself.2. I would recommend using a battery like a 1800 mAh 3s Tattu or Admiral, and push it as far forward as it can go. I have done this with the Tattu and the CG comes perfect, at around 36 mm behind the leading edge of the wing.
