“I just want to clarify my review below on my dissatisfaction with Motion discontinuing the T-45. I should have stated it was the manufacturer Freewing who decided to stop production on this jet. I apologize to Motion RC. I know they do not manufacture RC aircraft. Actually as you can see they did their best to bring it back when it was discontinued once before. I wish they could do it again. I can understand if you have an expensive foamie that isn't selling to expectations something needs to be done. But like many of us in this sport, we buy $$ things that seem to get discontinued far too soon, or it seems that way. “I'm not one star'ing the product I'm one star'ing MOTION's decision to discontinue. VERY disappointed Motion has discontinued this jet after a short time. I agree with some of the reasons as to why such as crap landing gear (and springs) that tears through the wing and the imbalance issues with stability. But I'm sure MOTION sold hundreds of these expensive jets to us all and now they discontinue it. I guess those of us who purchased one or more of these jets is just STUCK with them now and too bad for us, huh??? I think that's kind of a crappy deal for us. Even worse is spare parts haven't been 'discounted' for us. How about cutting us all some slack Motion and discount the spares since you won't be selling the jets anymore. I'm sure motion can afford to clear these spares off the shelves since they have plenty of room from selling out all the T-45's they had. They were always on backorder. They were by no means perfect, but some of us could manage to fly them. I wonder who decides to discontinue items. It certainly wasn't the 4.77 positive reviewers who posted here. Raw deal for us buyers once again. I contacted motion for an explanation but did not get anything in response. I didn't really expect one to be honest. Hope they allow this review at the very least.”
Mark-- thanks very much for your feedback. Please note that the Freewing T-45 Goshawk High Performance 90mm is not a new model-in fact until the point it was recently discontinued by Freewing it was one of our older offerings--we have been selling it for close to 10 years and it was Freewing who decided the economics no longer worked.
Some additional backstory--over the years various components were updated including new servos, adding power to the motor, removing the leading edge slats, but otherwise, it is the same airframe as when it was originally released (prior at least to 2016). Freewing discontinued it twice and two times we talked them back into making another batch but again, at this point, the economics don't work and they will not make it again.
