“I have to say i have only been flying for about 2 years and now i just love warbirds i have had my troubles with them but now with theses fightline fms freewing and of course Motion RC That makes it all happen, finanlly this sea fury from take off to landing was a beautiful fight and stable, yes i did have a little cg problem and i added about 2 oz to the nose and iam good with a 4000 4s great flight time a good 10 mins, very happy now ,thanks to Motion and everyone there you guys are the best ,matt thank you”
“a great model, went together as planned. the C/G is off though, i had to add 4 ounces of lead weight in the nose cowl. 4000 mah battery full forward. the real fury had a 5 blade prop, and i would like to get one of those.Thanks.”
“Very Impressed with this model. Well packaged with no damage. Paint and build superb. Expected the plane to be under powered, but was surprised to find more than adequate power for this Intermediate flyer. Only gripe is with the soft metal screws. Anyway, great job Flightline!”
“Flightline Sea Fury is a great kit and finish is excellent. I think the CG issue is misleading. The specs say 80mm from the leading edge at the root.......but wait, that's NOT what the instructions show. Follow the instructions. As an aside issue.., I purchased mine kit at the LHS and had a manufacturing issue. Motion could not warranty the kit as I did not purchase from them The local hobby shop replaced my aircraft. The deficiency was the motor--- shimmed up +2 degrees. I could not get the nose down and lost control. Broken in half, I repaired the fuse and pulled the motor. Right thrust is built into the airframe motor mounting location. The motor had a washer under the bottom motor mount. This is easy to check with the A/C level and using an incidence meter on the wing and motor. Believe me I will check my replacement kit the LA7. Good service from MRC though.”
“Had one retract just quit after I had put gear up for transporting. Then it wouldn't come down. Removed from plane but couldn't find grub nut to remove strut. Had to take retract apart to see that nut. Bottom line is that in the retracted position, the grub nut is not visible, but in the deployed position it is.”
“I set the CG of my sea fury at 80 mm per the instructions, but did not check it, DUH, pilot errorafter the maiden flight I retrieved my aircraft with 3 prop blades and 1 drop tank. ,,,,,,..... VERY TAIL HEAVYPlane need nose weight even with the 4S 4000 battery. Why were they called HEAVY METAL ????? Cause they were!!!!How much to add you ask, Add enough to make it balance, don't sweat it. Cause the airframe will carry it fine. Great Flieer”
“First off, the quality of this Sea Fury is top notch! Very impressed and happy with how solid the plane is and the quality of the foam and paint. Overall, a real looker! Went together quickly since there wasn't much to do. I do wish the plane was set up with the option of having removable drop tanks. As it is, you can either choose to leave them off or if you want them on, as I did, then they have to be glued on. I have planes with drop tanks from three other manufactures and all of them give you the flexibility fly with or without the drop tanks. Guess I should have thought about designing some system that would give me the option of flying with or without them depending on my desire at the time. Again, with that said, I glued them on because I like the look of the Sea Fury with the drop tanks. I found on my first flight with the recommended battery (4S 4000mAh) pushed all the way forward the plane was not the most stable plane in the air. Even after trimming, still not happy with it because she kept wanting to pull up and was sloppy in the air. My conclusion was it needed more weight in the nose and that's what I did. Now I fly with 1.5 oz. of lead in the nose and she flies much better. While most everybody says she flies great with the battery placed all the way forward and nothing else done to the plane, I suspect the drop tanks are affecting the flight characteristics (as I've seen them do with other planes that I have) and thus the need for extra weight in the nose. Regarding flaps, I did not use an elevator flap mix. Instead I set my computer radio to lower the flaps very slowly (7 seconds) and I don't experience any adverse ballooning up or down as I make my landing approach. I fly with the stock version because I like the scale look of the 4-blade prop rather than having a 2-blade prop. Overall, very happy with the plane!”
“Great Flyer. Had issues with Motion regarding Slight Deficiencies ( Still in my mind a !/4 tilt in 8 inches in the horizontal stabilizer is not SLIGHT). Having said that and to Motions RC's credit I did receive a call from a real person to reassure me the a tilt in the horizontal stabilizer would not impact the flying performance of the Sea Fury.Guess what? MotionRC was absolutely correction this issue.Looks like crap but the plane fly's great. One or two clicks for the elevator and it was flying great. One word concerning CG.The instruction say 80mm from the most leading edge to the wing. Totally wrong. Don't even go there. The video says to put the 4000 man battery against the fire wall and believe me it's perfect.Good job Motion. Now looking at the Spitfire.”
