“I have always had a soft spot for the Spit and the Flightline one is one of the nicest looking and performing one I have come across. The build is very straightforward and I did not find any changes that were needed. The four bladed prop fits beautifully inside the perfect fitting spinner and the power provided is more than ample for scale plus flight. Take offs require a little use of rudder but the tail comes up quick enough to not pose a problem. She performs well inverted, loops and rolls, split S ---no problems. Landings are very solid 2 pointers with the use of full flaps and she slow down quickly on both grass and pavement with surprisingly little tendency to nose over over scrape a wingtip. I highly recommend this wonderful little bird if you even have the slightest interest in the pride of The Battle of Britain. D.W.”
“My very first foamie, and it is a terrific model. Bar none, the Spitfire is my favorite WWII warbird and this version of the Mk. IX variant has outstanding detailing and excellent decals. Very easy to assemble. Highly recommended.”
“I would have given this plane 5 stars except for a few small issues. First off, it's a bit underpowered for my tastes with the stock set up - there is NO WAY this bird does 83mph on stock set up. I tried it with a 4S 3000 mah 40C battery and a brand new 2650 4S 40C battery. It's still little sluggish for my flying style. I live in SW FL and I left the plane in the 92° sun while at our field, and the beautiful smooth finish that was exposed to the sun is now all gator-skinned and looks horrible. I think the dark colors of the plane absorbed the sun and heated the foam and caused this. (although I have left many foam planes in the Florida sun and have never experienced anything quite like this!) Second, some of the larger stickers are peeling around the edges - again, probably because of being left in the sun. So I will have to carefully remove them and apply some 3M spray adhesive to get them to stick. As far as take offs and landings - this plane is rock solid. Even with the narrow landing gear, ground handling is excellent. Long scale rollouts down the runway are a sight to behold! Landings are slow and stable with half or full flaps. This is a great warbird without any of the quirky tendencies associated with the Spit. I am going to have to upgrade the power to 2 blades and 5S.”
“I've been doing this hobby for 50 years and have built a bunch of Spitfires. Not one was perfect in the air and on the ground. The narrow gear, the tiny horizontal stab, the overweight war bird.... They looked so good and flew so bad and then the landings, a wing tip here, a nose over there...Along comes this thing, an incredibly inexpensive foam electric, builds in a hour, and looks great. But how does it fly? AWESOME. I have a few dozen flight on it and still haven't touched a wing tip! Yes I have had a nose over, but hey... I put a Mr RC sound in it, a 12x12 APC 2 blade prop and use a 5S 3700mA pack. Speed is awesome, in fact it's just on the edge of what the wing can handle, it is flexing and I have to be careful at full speed but so far so good. When I first put it together I had it on 6S but it was flexing so much it was dangerous. My only suggestions are reduce the elevator and flap throws. Other than that it's perfect. Good looks and great flying, where were these back in the day?”
“I have yet to maiden this bird as I have a busy schedule but from what I can see in the construction...it's a solid bird! Well thought out and well constructed. A must have for any Battle of Britain fan!”
“Wow what a excellent scale product epically for the price point aside from some very minor cosmetic flaws it is worth every cent. A+++ to the development team with Motion rc and Freewing. using the 4000 4S packs it balances exactly perfect and will fly for 10 min easily. the flaps and retracts and all electronics work perfect . I would have preferred the four slot rims over the low detail on this model spitfire version had but is not a big deal. Very well thought-out spitfire . Easy to fly Scale Spitfire and handels very easy with a bit more rudder and aleron correction compaired to P51 or P47S .Low intermediate skill level required no for the beginners.. will be buying more flight line products in the future”
“Got this bird through my local shop in Canada who ordered it from Motion for me. Very nice looking bird good detail.Flies beautifully with no really bad habits. The box says 85mph which is a bit of an overstatement in my opinion. It does have a few thingsthat I find a bit concerning. They hinged the splitflaps but nothing else but recommend hinging the rudder. Hinges they provide are very poor. Thewing bolts are tiny and are self tapping into hard plastic which can cause problems if over tight with stripping the plastic. All in all a nice bird.”
