I got the Bearcat after a fair amount of research, and reading mostly positive reviews. I got the plane and assembled it....some difficulty here. The holes in the control surface horns were a little too small to accommodate the pins on the control rod attachments. After wrecking a couple, I used a needle to enlarge the holes. Not a huge deal, but still a pain. I installed the receiver, connected the control box and tried to finish setup. Binding was no problem, and the control surfaces all worked fine. The landing gear was another story. I was unable to cycle them at all. After talking with Motion RC support, they suspected it was the control box and sent me a new one. I decided to try and remove the control box and use Y cables to see if I could get the gear to work. Still no luck, then I discovered I could get the gear to cycle once if I plugged into the the flap connector (Aux1) I thought I may have a dead gear pin on the receiver, so I swapped it with a receiver from another airplane that I know worked. Still no luck...not sure what else to try. It's a great looking airplane, and I am dying to fly it, but I'm disappointed by all the problems so far.

Nice plane from flightline, everything is perfect. only the stickers that need to be glued if you want to keep them in place.I don't understand why, but all of my warbirds needed weight on the nose... the bearcat is not an exception. more than 100g.

Great airplane. Easy assembly. Only negative are the decals. $20.00 for Callie Graphics decals and the problem was solved

Wonderful Warbird, easy to assemble, everything fit. The only bad point are the stickers that are easy to remove but that means not glueing perfectely on the plane

My new F8F BearCat was ready and we were getting a good flying day. I was ready to put my plane in the air for the first time. I always do a few warmup flights with an old familiar plane before I launch a maiden flight. All went well and I was ready.I had put a gyro in this plane, just for something different. When they warn us about making sure that we get the throw directions right with these gyros, believe Them...... It's important!!!!!In spite of checking and rechecking, I still managed to get the ailerons connected backwards in the gyro. I discovered it at the final check at the field for the first flight of my new F8F BearCat. I couldn't remember how to change it and the instructions were at home. So, I decided to just turn the gyro off at the transmitter and fly my new baby gyro-less. VERY BIG MISTAKE!!!!Somewhere between that final check and takeoff, that switch on the transmitter got turned back on. About 10 feet off of the ground, that plane went crazy. No airplane could possibly fly like that but mine did. Not realizing that the gyro was turned on again, I tried to get the plane under control but it was a loosing battle. In it's wild mannuvering it was flying in a fairly straight line........ away from me. The darn thing was going to fly away!!!!! I did have the presence of mind to do a half-loop so that it was at least coming back. It did a beautiful 10 roll cork screw. By this time, it was heading for the club pit area. So I cut the power and let it come down....... hard.Lesson #1. If the gyro is not right, disconnect it. Don't just turn off the switch.Lesson #2. Refer back to Lesson #1The F8F will fly again once the $70 worth of parts arrives from MotionRC

This is a sweet plane. Wasn't sure how I'd like it, being only 1200mm, but it's a sweet flyer. It flies super stable, but can do all aerobatics with no problem. It's not a speed demon, but it's fast enough and it will climb out of sight. It was very easy to build, maybe took 30 minutes. The decals took a while longer, but they are worth it. Only challenge with the build was feeding the wing wiring up through the fuse to get to the junction box. it's a little tight, but not a big problem. Speaking of tight, the carbon fibre spar was a tight fit going through the fuselage. I thought I was going to break the plane trying to push it through.I've balanced the plane a little farther back than the instructions say. They call for 85" back form the wing root, but it was tail heavy there. I'm balanced right over the main spar, and it flies perfectly. I'm getting 6 minutes of high power flying on a 4S 3000 battery, so happy with that. One thing I was pleasantly surprised with: The build video didn't accurately describe the decal set inside the kit. I was only expecting 2 sets of decals, but the kit came with decals for about 8 different versions, so I was able to pick the one that I liked, and i was very happy about that. This plane is not very big; I'd estimate at 47", so on one hand, it's small enough to transport easily, but on the other, it's on the small side for an RC plane. It looks great in the air, though. If you're looking for a handy warbird that is a joy to fly, easy to build and will do all the flying stuff, this plane is a winner. Highly recommended.Enjoy!

As per the title, invest in Y cables. 3 to be exact. The BLUE BOX connection system does not work. I've had 3 or 4 other Blue box's that did not work either. The BLUE BOX connection system is GARBAGE. As a mater of fact, that's where this one is now. If you do buy the plane, she's a beauty, be ready to bypass the blue box with Y cables. Now that my F8 is box less, she works perfectly.
