Motion RC has always provided excellent models at a fair price! The Bearcat by FlightLine is another. Quality aircraft mostly assembled in perfect condition. Assembly is quick and easy. The instructions clearly highlight their Chinese origins. Pictures help the incomplete instructions. Looking forward to spring and flying weather! Cheers

Bearcat recieved in good condition. Assembly went relatively well, however found servo leads from ailerons, flaps and landing gear barely long enough to connect to reciever. Did modify power system by replacing original 580kv motor with 540kv motor and propeller from FMS 1400 Corsair. Now not extremely fast but vertical is pretty much unlimited. Due to extra weight of replacement motor and propeller and using 14.8v 3600mah battery had to move battery aft about 4 inches of firewall to bring c.g. within recommended by manual. Flight characteristics are great, roll rate pretty quick. With full flaps landing is very slow with exceptional stability while carrying a little power makes great smooth 3 point landings. Great airplane in a size that is easy to transport.

Exceptional plane, takes off and lands super easy. Flys really smooth and just about crawls in for a landing with flaps dropped Hard if not impossible to drop a wing and the stall speed is incredibly slow. Flys great on 3S despite what the manufacturer will tell you as it’s almost exactly the same size and weight as my E Flite 1200mm P47 that also flys on 3S and a 2200 3S is what E flite recommends for it A 4500 100c 3S pack will balance out perfectly with the CG and gives you 8 min of flight and cruises at 1/2 throttle with ease. Motor does not even think about pulsing at full throttle

Picked this up as a 10th plane . Simple build and flys fantastic. Very detailed. I also picked up the sport motor to give it a little more grunt. Overall I would highly recommend it to new or seasoned.

The F8F Bearcat is my first warbird as a tail dragger. So let’s call me a novice so far. So far I have flown several other scale planes (Piper Cherokee, Beech C18). I knew that I would have to be on my toes. Other reviews have mentioned that the CG is a little tail heavy so I was pretty careful to measure and balance the bird, and I had an experienced pilot help with the maiden. Well … it still stalled and spun in on the maiden flight. After repairs I added about 6ounces of inside the cowling. Second flight much better. Good predictable characteristics, fun to fly. A second issue though is the landing gear. Very fragile. Almost every time I fly it, I have to make repairs to the landing gear. A”firm” landing will tear the landing gear out of the wing, turning too fast on the ground will wreck the servo. Overall, I like flying the Bearcat, but I recommend moving the CG forward about 1/2” especially for novice flyers, and beef up the landing gear.

Honestly, this was the absolute worst experience I’ve had with a motion product! The servo leads were barely long enough to reach the blue controller. Spent a couple hours with w tweezers getting them all hooked up. Plugged in the battery, and….nothing worked. All of a sudden the motor went to full throttle, shot across my shop table, and the prop turned the top of my left hand to hamburger….spend 2 hours in emergency…ouch! Back to work on it…..the blue controller did not work. Had to bypass it. Flap servos were bad right out of the box . Same with the retracts. Contacted Motion twice via email…no response, which was not typical for them. I managed to find some servos ,and a set of retracts that fit in my parts box. Checked everything….all worked. Put it back together….flaps failed again. Decided to fly it without them.. first flight went well…a bit touchy with recommended control deflection. Tamed it down, and second flight was better. Had a nice landing, but, as I taxied in, both gear pulled out . Not much material that they were installed in at the factory. I think I got the kit from hell! It’s sitting on my shop bench until .I try to fix it….extremely disappointed.

The plane looks good went together fairly easy. Had an issue with the landing gear doors not closing firmly and when the gear retracted it would get caught on one of the wheels not closing all the way. Stickers started to come off also had a hard time with the cg over all it was ok.
