The F8F is one of my favorite fighter aircraft of WWII. Out of the box, the airplane was simply beautiful. The deep blue is perfect, with no flaws. Assembly was fast and very straight forward, with a minimal part count(5, not counting the prop assembly and guns), and took about 30 minutes to complete. The vinyl decals are gorgeous, without the telltale clear bubble around waterslide decals. In the air, the airplane is very well behaved, through its entire speed range. It will fly super slow, with full flaps and about 6 clicks of power on, without rocking the wings. At full throttle, it has enough power for nice large loops, and incredible low passes. I have the Aspire V2 sound system in it, and the additional weight has not bothered it a bit, and the double Wasp motor sound is incredible. 5 out of 5 from this happy guy!!

This is my first Flightline plane, right out of the box it impresses. Maidened this morning and virtually no vices if set up properly, as is the case with any airplane. This is not a Rare Bear with unlimited vertical, so don't expect it. But she's very much in keeping with the 1400 mm FMS warbirds. I had no wind this morning so I dropped 15 degrees of flap and she was up in a very short time, flies like a dream and handles landings beautifully, doesn't seem to tip stall. Things like lights would have been nice, but the price would have been higher as well, for the price, you're getting a heck of a bargain and a new best friend.

This morning I was able to get four flights in. The maiden flight was great, easy take off, and simple landing. All following flights were just as easy. This plane basically lands itself with full flaps as per the manual 30mm deflection, tracks straight on the runway with minimal rudder correction. I flew on low rates as per the manual, using 30% expo on all surfaces. I used an Admiral 4S 3000 battery (as I have many of those) and I needed to add a fair amount of weight into the front of the battery compartment to obtain the 85mm CG. The 85mm CG puts you just behind the silver exhausts, and it flies GREAT with that CG. I'd prefer of course to use less dead weight and use bigger batteries, but I have so many 4S 3000 batteries that I'm not looking to purchase anything batteries right now. I get about 6 minutes mixed flight with my batteries. Now it takes off and lands like the old silver Parkzone P-47 to me. That wide stance really helps out. Much like the P-47 ground handling is easy as well.As for flying, I'm just going to say this, it flies A LOT like the PZ Wildcat, and that is probably one of my favorite planes to fly. It does exactly what you want it to do. Just point it where you want it to go and it goes. I love it! Brilliant model, and it's going to be a hot seller for quite awhile I'm sure, as it flies much the same as the PZ Wildcat, and now with flaps and retracts handling like the PZ P-47 this is an absolute winner. Good luck keeping it in stock MotionRC :)Two small notes, make sure the elevator and rudder pushrods are tightened down on the servo side using a screw driver to clamp them down nice and tight. Also, check the retracting of the landing gear and tweak if needed to make sure the wheels are not getting hung up on the rod that closes the inner gear doors.Thank you MotionRC for such a great model, the build was almost the easiest build I've ever done and no need to upgrade or modify anything, fantastic! :)

I received the plane on Halloween as a birthday present from my wife. Put her together the same say. Build was straight forward and was very pleased with the tight fit and flawless finish in the foam. So much better than the Flightline P-38. Got to take her up today 11/3/16. She takes off smooth, using half throttle. cG is definitely off from the manual as she flew nose up the whole time. Landed her, moved the battery (using Admiral 4s 4000 Mah) back about 1/2 and it made all the difference in the world. Used low rates to set it up, very little right trim and she was smooth as silk. I agree with one of the other reviews, this thing should have had nav lights. I'll worry about that later. I gave it four stars only because 3 1/2 wasn't an option. She seems a tad under powered, scale enough but a little mor zip and And the lighting and I would have gone all in with 5 stars. Landing gear is not very forgiving on a bumpy grass field, I may change over to Dave Brown tires to absorb some of the bumps. Other than that she flew really good. Decent gliding and slow flight characteristics. She's nice. Not the best in my fleet but nice.

After 10 flights, all is great. I made a few minor changes. Using a 3600 mAh battery, position 1/2 inch aft of forward limit. Normal flights with 70% throw and 30% expo. I have a secondary taxi setting for more elevator to prevent nose over. I also raked the landing gear forward with a very small washer to prevent the tendency to nose over when taxiing downwind on grass. Very minor changes to an already great model. You will not be disappointed.

Over all a very nice plane. The fit and finish is great and the maiden today went smooth it just needed a bit of down trim and then it flew great. I am only giving it 4 stars because the control board was defective. After assembly and plugging in the battery one flap servo just twitched back and forth and the aileron servos did not work at all and only one gear would extend. I changed out the control board for Y harnesses and all worked fine after that. I flew two flights with it today and upon landing after second I flight noticed that one of the gear door springs that help snap the door closed is no longer working. I tested the gear on the ground about 4 times before flight and then had two flights on it so the door mechanism only lasted 6 cycles.

Form, Fit and Finish are impressive. Flys great! I balanced to published CG, seems nose heavy. I had to add 1.5 oz to balance with 3600 mAh battery. After several flights, I removed all extra weight. I will start moving battery aft to find better CG. I am checking flight performance CG using the 45 degree inverted up line. Only issue during assembly was the elevator joiner, very tight fit. Great plane!
