FlightLine F8F-1 Bearcat 1200mm (47") Wingspan - PNP Reviews

4.6 Rating 201 Reviews
Wow the finish on the foam is very nice. Only issue that I have had is the gun turrets are fine on the right wing but left wing I had to use glue since the hole were very large and so the guns would just fall out. I also have issues FlightLineRC Control Board. My printed manual shows the elevator and rudder controls show go the the control box as well. While the online version on the MotionRC.com website shows the elevator and rudder should be connected to the receiver. No big deal but I took a picture on the printed manual and compared to the online version.Just need to put the decals on and measure the CG before I do a maiden flight.Printed manual:https://photos.google.com/search/_tra_/photo/AF1QipOlLMpL_n0gePB6iGXrPLLV3X0VyEA0kcVsvXUGOnline version:https://photos.google.com/search/_tra_/photo/AF1QipOTmgsff9j4hmrx3sid3WA4lUEvhxlC3BUdyDix

First off great fit and finish. Motions Flightline planes are a step above with there attention details like there new retracts, being able to adjust and replace or change parts as needed.Back to Bearcat, heed cg warning on reviews. Tried to fly on 3000 4s and would have to add 9oz. So i had a 5000 4s but that I fly on another plane and it is perfect. The 5000 bat is over a lb. but the plane flys perfect. I also added 1 washer under top motor mount because on take off or throttle up the plane would climb skyward. With washer it takes off like a real plane, you have to add elevator and under way no big climb out under full throttle. Very stable underway and flys like P47 48in parkzone without stablizer. No stall characteristics, actually with no throttle and hold back on stick and she just stair steps down. Wide landing stance and lands great also. I have the 55in Zero and I thought she flew well but the Bearcat is hands down the best plane in my hanger.

Wing fits into fuselage was very tight and had to sand. Watch the CG with battery placement as this plane is tail heavy. Elevator is sensitive. I thought I set my elevator level but on maiden it climbed almost vertical with up elevator and had to trim the elevator all the way down to get level flight. Later adjusted the elevator mechanically to where the trim was set. The elevator fin looking from the side should be slightly down. Once all trimmed out, plane was fun to fly. Since I am used to jets and faster prop planes, the stock power system was too slow for my taste but achieved long flight times. Plane behaves very well and is fun to fly. Replaced the power system and prop. Will see how it flies.

Awesome airplane great scale looks with multiple options provided for different schemes an easy build lots of power even with scale prop would like to see better clevis design on future aircraft especially on higher 4S powered aircraft.

missing left wing servos motion sent me 2 replacements, but the servo horns were not same as right wing had to modufy the long horns in package and cut one ear off. hope it works other than that plane in perfect condition out of box wish the manufacture would put tape that matches plane so you can cover the leeds up David

Hi, this plane is the largest of my RC roster. I have only unboxed the plane todate, Winter is here in N/W Britich Columbia so the maiden flight will not be till spring. I am simply amazed at the quality of finish on this plane. I went over the plane very carefully and am lucky that there are absolutely no imperfections any where. I am waiting for the correct size batteries to arrive before I can at least assemble the plane to check that all servos etc are functioning correctly. I did also opt for the sprung landing gear but will have to wait until Motion RC has decided what to do about the malfunctioning front landing gear. Wow, is this ever a big plane, will be a long winter waiting to fly this gem.

I loved the look of this bird as soon as I saw it and pre-ordered it immediately! My build went flawless. I preset all my servos and had a couple minor adjustments at the horns. You can just look at the lines on this bird and know what it wants. To Fly. My legs were shaking as usual on a first flight but they calmed down within 30 seconds. I taxied out, lined her up on the runway, advanced the throttle incrementally, watched the H. Stab rise and she lifted off in the most uneventful first takeoff ever. Watching the gear come up I almost forgot it was a model. The Bear looks in charge in the air. I put in 1 click of left trim and we were off and running. Very Stable. No bad habits. Just tell the Bear what to do and it does it. It goes upstairs with authority. It is a fun model to fly and landings are as smooth as the takeoffs. Keep a little power on it coming in and chop the throttle just as the wheels touch, It tracks very straight on the ground. This is such a great model I bought the F7F TigerCat when it went on pre-order. I hope it's as fun as the Bear. You won't be disappointed with this Grumman Masterpiece!
