FlightLine F8F-1 Bearcat 1200mm (47") Wingspan - PNP Reviews

4.6 Rating 201 Reviews
Went together quick and easy. I only had one issue, and that was the wing tube and plastic receiving holes for wing bolts were a little too big so I had to do some shaving to get the wings to slide on all the way. Other than that, easy assembly and works and looks awesome! Still 5 stars, nothing is absolute perfect. We're also in this hobby to build too right gents??

Very nicely done Bearcat. Very cool that it includes so many decals for different variants and the vinyl stickers are good quality. Motion RC is a great company to do business with.

Flies great! I'm happy with the speed of the stock setup with 4-blade prop. With full flaps, it slows down incredibly well without tip stalling, even with a heavy 4s 5000 mAh pack that gives 7 minute full throttle flights with about 30 percent capacity remaining. A very stable, satisfying plane to fly and land. Perfect size to throw in the back seat of my car. A winner!

First off the good. Love the scale outlines Love the scale landing gear Love the quality of the finished look. Now the bad It took me two hours to fit the left wing panel, I first thought it was not going in the saddle far enough then figured out that the hard plastic part that the screw goes into was a tad too long. Finally getting the wing panel in and screwed tight I picked the plane up and flipped it over in the soft foam cradle I use for working on planes and found the paint rubbed thin on the top front of the fuse. I have not flown it yet, but kind of unhappy about the paint already. A little bummer because the bear is my all time favorite plane. Thanks for your time . One last item, I have been building and flying r/c since 1977 Not a rookie issue.

FlightLineRC F8F Bearcat: Fit and finish on this model is very good. The decals go on very easily and look really good. The stock model is very good looking but I had to make it my own so I did custom paint and markings.Ground handling for a taildragger is very easy. The wide stance landing gear and moderate size wheels make it very forgiving. The flying qualities are on a par with a trainer with a lot of performance. I can recommend this model strongly to an intermediate flyer. It has very excellent slow speed handling, it fast and can turn on a dime. BIG loops are a lot of fun. There were no negatives on assembly. The only negative I can come up with is it tends to be a little light in nose so using bigger batteries (4000mAh+) is recommended and place them all the way forward. I have run 2700mAh batteries all the way forward and although the CG was further aft than recommended it still flew just fine. The wide wing chord is very forgiving on CG but it does fly better with heavier batteries and a further forward CG in my opinion. From a purely scale point of view this is the best scaled and best looking Bearcat you can buy as an ARF. The landing gear are not scale but that is the nature of a Bearcat model as scale Bearcat landing gear are double jointed and would be expensive for a model this size and price point which is the best part, at $200 you won't find a nicer Bearcat. . I would have liked a retractable tailwheel as well but again, for it's price it's a great buy and awesome flyer. Overall I'd give this model 4.7 out of 5 stars and would highly recommend this model to anyone.

I have the Bearcat since October. I am still getting use to it; but as a flying model it is really nice. The best is taking it around for turns on rudder - SMOOTH. I updated decals and got them through Callie Graphics. I really recommend it the plane looks great. One comment - I landed on a hard surface this past Tuesday and it has a little grass sticking up. Well something caught and tore the left landing gear off. I was lucky the glue joint popped but some of the wing was damaged. I fixed the damage and it is not pretty but I thing I would have been happier if the landing gear were screw down rather than glued down. I still think it is a good airplane but do yourself a favor balance forward. It is very unforgiving if. It balanced right.
