“Arguably less scale than the ones that came on the plane, but are nice to have since this is a heavier plane and make landing a little easier. However, they used the cheapest low quality aluminum possible and ask a premium for it. The problem I also found and that there is little to now POST process care taken (which is normal with this type of metal it seems) and the cut edging is burred which eventually wears on the outer strut and can eventually open up so much you ben them or they bind all together. Not something I expected from Flightline. The aluminum they used is the same I'd get from cheap no name $10 struts from some other site I won't mention. BTW, not all their struts are like this, If you want them, get them just put loctite on all the grub screws and add dry **** or similar to the strut.”
“For me there are only two bad points to my p38 and this fixes one of them. This plane is pretty heavy so if you fly it off of grass or not so perfect pavement eventually the gear will pull out of the foam. After experiencing this on more than one occasion i ordered these struts. Now instead of bumping around, the spring takes all the abuse and doesn't transfer all that stress to the epoxy bond between the retract mounting block and the foam. They also look great and the wheels are slightly larger than the stock ones.”
“Nose wheel is a little challenging. Its easier to just undo some screws on the nose wheel strut and take the shaft out to put the c-clip on. I think there is a youtube video showing this. Other than that, the shocks work excellent for me at the grass field I fly on. Definitely worth the money. Personally, planes like this should come with the upgraded shocks already on.”
“The struts work great. The nose strut was a little hard to install as I wasn't expecting to have to disassemble the retract, but it all came out fine and it was well worth the effort.Thank you so much. Your company is great.”
