As usual a great model from Flightline and went together very easily. only downside are the electronics and wires are very tight not much room to work. Also the waterslides on the props need to be clear coated or they just fly off but a great model yet again from Flightline and 1st class from Motionrc

What a great job the crew at flight line has done. Just maidend yesterday extremely easy flying. Every one at the field gathered around taking a look and lots of compliments after seeing flown. Flew for around 4.5 minutes and only used 900 mah. My packs are 2 of the 4c 2675mah 35-70 c rating and just slightly warm probably 85-95 degree f. and I was thinking they might be too small lol. Should get up to 6 min depending on throttle usage. I'm so impressed with ease of assembling and quality that I got home and ordered the FW190 flight line. Thanks for the great scale looks and quality. Cheers

First off, I would give the plane 5 stars; HOWEVER, I had a MLG completely come out when landing. When I say completely, I mean the mounting base with the MLG actuator (wormgear) still ******* onto it. Granted my landing wasn't a flawless three point touch down, but the gear should have stayed on.Anyway, the build is very easy though when it comes to the screws it would be nice if they would let you know which type is which. I'm referring to the PA3 10mm and PZ3 10mm screws. Had to Google to find out which was which. The instructions actually give you an in-depth build which is nice if you ever need to sadly dig in deep to do a repair or troubleshoot. The plane flies awesome. I'm more of scale flyer and honestly if you want to do crazy tight snap rolls, hammerheads....bla bka there are other planes out there just for that. Turns are clean though it did look like she was sliding her tail just a bit, but that could have been the wind. I'll need more flights to figure that out. But hey, that's what rudder for, right!Take off and landing.... I have about 5-8mm flaps set to be down whenever the gear is down. Plus as per the build there is the 3-4mm up elevator as neutral on the elevator. When taking off on our 200 foot runway, easing into the throttle she was up in less than half the runway, it was doing an awesome scale shallow climb out until I had to take over to clear the tree line. Everyone warching was saying, "Nice takeoff!"Landing with just a light breeze down the runway, first with the gear/flaps mix...no ballooning, mid through full flaps, no ballooning really, but OMG does she float! Just add in a bit of power to comp the drag. With some practise I can see lots of three point landings. JUST TUG GOOD ON YOUR GEAR TO MAKE SURE THEY ARE GLUED GOOD....LOLThe wiring can be tricky, but just keep a cool head and lay it all into place. I use a piece of scotch tape to help organize it all. When plugging into THE BOX, look at the instructions. When it comes to the lights the landing gear on/off plug and the blinking formation light recepticals aren't Mark box, but are in the instructions. Yes, my landing light blinks and the formation light comes on when the gear extends. I like it.... Though only my red and green lights work on the formation signals. Is the yellow suppose to come on Too?Overall, I'm super impressed. Oh the decals.... take the time to put them all on. You will be glad you did and with the 4 different sets to choose, you can always change them out.

Pilots Listen up, If I could give this airplane 10 stars I would! In the air she only gets better. Let me start with ground handling first. This P-38 is spot on solid. She tracks true and the take off roll is dead straight. To tell the truth this bird scared me before I got to know her. The P-38 looks wicked and that's how I thought she would be. The exact opposite is the truth. Take the time to set the control surfaces as instructed, balance her per plan, and mix in the down elevator for flap deployment and I assure you this Wicked looking aircraft will be butter in your hands. My maiden flight was awesome. I gave her full power and let her roll out long before any inputs were made. Even box stock she is a fast bird. At first let her go. when she reaches full speed gently pull back on the elevator and she climbs out so beautiful it's a sight to behold. I set up 3 rates, mild, wild, and wicked. First flight was mild but with enough authority to really wring her out. She heads upstairs fast and rolls so smooth it's just amazing to feel, and incredible to watch. No bad tendencies whatsoever. As mentioned this P-38 is a speed merchant so let it keep it's speed until you get to know her. the P-38 will tip stall if you let too much speed bleed off. High angle banks will get dicey as well if you let her get too slow. Check her flap tendencies upstairs before attempting landings with flaps to avoid ground interactions or soil sampling. Get to know this airplane first and it will deliver all the excitement one would expect from this incredible airframe. On last thing! You must remember is to keep the power up on landings. Once you get the rate of decent established slowly bring the power back to about 1/3 to 1/4 and the P-38 will settle into her dihedral and land as smooth as silk. Motion RC and Flightline hit this one way out of the park. Treat her with respect and this bird will deliver the thrills you wanted when you got into our hobby and will continue to deliver flight after flight! Thanks Motion!

This is my initial review of the unpacking and assembly of the Flightline 63" P-38 Lightning. As usual Motion RC got the plane to me in short order. As I unpacked this bird the quality of the finish was incredible. If I didn't know it was foam there was practically no way you could tell. All the parts were perfect. This bird went together so easy it was great. All the parts fit with precision and with tight tolerances making for an incredible looking aircraft. The wiring was extensive but understandable and fit as shown. Hook everything up as the plans specify and all systems will work perfectly. I installed the metal retracts and those were surprisingly easy as well. Watch the upgrade video and it's a breeze. At this point I am quite pleased with this fine model. I plan on her maiden flight sometime next week and will do a follow on review to share my results. If she flies like she looks I'm in for a great day at the Flying Field!
