First of all i am just a 14 year old by now just to clarify and this plane flies beautifully. My first flight i barely had to trim the thing our just a tick or two of down elevator trim not cause it needed it but just to keep my fingers on the stick the thing is with this plane is its extremely high wing loading. This is not a light bird you do not glide it in like with smaller aircraft she needs power at least 1/3rd throttle to land it and right before you touch down cut the throttle and do a light flare. Overall great plane to fly but its scary cause it looks so nice i'm afraid to wreck it

I purchased this plane from Motion along with the strut upgrade about a month ago. I currently have about 20 flights. The building experience wasn't too bad, I followed along with the build video. There is a set of screws for the boom that was omitted in the video that is required in the manual. The newer version has an excellent wiring harness that makes assembly, disassembly and transport very easy. There are multiple wires which can be daunting, just stick with it, one step at a time and you wont have an issue. The plane is very impressive to look at once complete. I flew the first 6 flights with the stock gear to see how they handled on grass, turf and pavement. No issues, and cycled well. All wiring, lighting and servos performed as expected. I have flown with 2 Admiral 2500s, and 2 Admiral 3000s. 5 to 5.5 minute flight times with each. I couldn't get the standard Admiral 3600 to fit, but you could get them to fit with a little carving. I was able to get the Admiral Pro 3600 to fit without any modification, and I can get 6 minutes and great performance. The kit went together very well. I would give it very high ratings for fit and finish. I was very nervous about how the flight performance would be since it is heavy, but it flies VERY well! it doesn't roll like the Spitfire, but it is fast. Vertical performance is 5 star. I do dial in 3 and 6 percent down elevator for flap settings. I wouldn't recommend trying to dead stick the landing. It is a twin and should be flown like one. Keep a little throttle on final and you will be surprised how docile landings are. I couldn't be happier with this plane.

so just a heads up the wiring has changed slightly since release and if you use the video for the wiring well good luck, on the bright side its much easier to remove and replace the outer wings now. have yet to fly mine but i cant wait to see it flying!

Crashed my P38 due to deploying the flaps and getting it too slow for landing. On the downwind leg, desending it dropped the right wing and I couldnt recover as not enough hight. Note: DONT TRY TO FLY THIS PLANE LESS THEN HALF THROTTLE UNLESS YOU HAVE ENOUGH ALTITUDE TO RECOVER IF IT STALLS IN A TURNGreat plane and I have just ordered another one. Hope they have a lot on hand as I ordered a lot of extra props and a few spinners. Quick shipping so far and great service by Motion RC. I have the A6 Intruder and its a great plane too.

Haven't flown it yet but it went together great!. Did have a centering issue with the elevator servo but motion took care of this immediately. This is a beautiful model and I can't wait to get it in the air. Just have to wait for the snow to melt...

The P-38 is my favorite aircraft. I've always dreamed of a large scale model to display and this kit works for me. I never dreamed that I'd ever step into the RC flying world. Looking forward to perfect flights with this bird.

This is my second Flightline P-38. I had the silver one before and basically wore it out flying it. Decided to go with the green/gray version this time. This one looks really good on the ground, but in my opinion the silver one looks better in the air.Plane flies really well. No bad habits, except it doesn't really like a hard almost 90 degree bank turn. It wants to drop the nose when banking hard, and you have to work to get the nose around quick. The plane is fairly nimble on high rates, although it does fly like it weighs about 20 pounds, so be careful of that. It will lose altitude quickly when not upright on its wings or if air speed drops.I take off with about 75% flap and land with full flaps. With this setting on take-off, it will get off the ground quick even on about 2/3 power. I like that rather than a long high-speed take-off roll. You will still need a decent amount of power on landing. It will drop like a rock when the power goes off. This plane has better tires and wheels than my original one. I bought the silver one when it first came out, and the tires/wheels were the probably the only poor element to the plane. These new tires are pneumatic, and are much better. They are much quieter and give some nice cushion. In my opinion, no need to upgrade the landing gear or wheels with these new ones. I'm very satisfied with these new wheels. Plane has lots of power and is easy to see. Those 2 big booms really show up out there and help to keep orientation. This is definitely the most complex foam plane assembly I've ever done. There is an insane amount of wiring in there, and it all has to fit in a very small space. My strong advice to anyone building this model is to test out all of your servo, power, and mechanical connections before ******** the model together. If you have to take it apart to fix a connection, it's a serious pain. You want to make certain everything is working before you start putting the fuse, wings and booms together. The wires going out to the flaps and ailerons are not labeled, so do something so you can tell them apart once the wing goes on. The same with the lighting wiring. Check all of that out before making final assembly. Plane is packaged superbly, and it's fairly straight forward to build...just be ready for a BUNCH of wiring. Only a little bit of gluing...small plastic parts (guns, antennae, etc.) and 2 outbound horizontal stab parts.Only complaint on this....they sent me 2 duplicate outer sections for the horizontal stab, instead of a left and a right. I got two right parts. So, I have to contact them to send me the right part. It will fly like this, just have the wrong colors on top and bottom, so it looks a little goofy. Also, the manual is about useless, so be sure to watch the build video on Motion's website. You may need that.Maiden flight needed quite a bit of trimming (mostly pitch and a few clicks of left aileron). There's a lot of room to move the batteries around, so you may mess with that to the pitch right. I elected to go a little forward to be sure I wasn't tail heavy. I'll probably play with moving them back some to get my trim settings back close to center.Overall, very nice plane. Good flyer and looks fantastic. Be ready for a heavy-flying plane, but if you like warbirds, you'll love it. Has to be part of any warbird-lover's collection.Enjoy!
