“So I bought the 1600mm Flight line Spitfire even tho I am NOT a fan of foamies or electrics. I have been building for well over 40 years and Am not a fan of ARFs. But I love the spitfire. I put it together balanced it, took it out to the field and I was amazed at how well she flew. Everything, takeoff, handling, high speed, low speed, the flaps, which I increased the deflection to 90 degrees like the scale Spit were amazingly effective. Landings were amazing. I took it home, weathered it and brought her out again to fly. Again perfect flight until I pulled up out of a high speed pass and I heard a bang. No control and she entered a flat spin. I walked out to the scene of the crash and found that the motor was gone. Seems like the motor mount broke, cg shifted aft and flat spin. After a search the motor and what remained of the prop was found about 150 feet away. I hope it was some manufacturing defect because I really like the plane. Plane functioned great til the engine flew off.”

“I gave my Spitfire a maiden flight today and I was so impressed! Set up as per manual with an Admiral 5000 all the way to the firewall. The cg was a little further back 95-100mm from the leading edge and I won't need to change it. Easing off up elevator after the first few metres and progressive use of the throttle and right rudder, she took off without any dramas at all. Just a few clicks up on the elevator was all that was needed although I did set it up pretty level. The spit flies on rails and as I prefer to fly to scale I reckon the 50+ mph for a 1:7 scale model is spot on at full throttle. Landing was uneventful in a 10 knot wind, I didn't use flaps as she nosed down quite a lot but I will put a mix in a flap/elevator mix in for calmer days. I stay on low rates for warbirds and use high rates just on the elevator and rudder for taxi-ing on our fairly short grass field. I use 35% expo on ailerons and rudder and 45% expo on elevator which suits my style.Delighted to finish with a greaser! Happy days and well dome MotionRC - keep up the good work”

“I bought this model , because I like the Spitfire very much, the dimension was OK not to small. Quality was excellent only the canopy was not clear, what was replaced from Motion RC in Europe without Problems. The spitfire is very detailed, I made Airbrush weathering and painted invasion Stripes. Also I printed the 3d Cockpit and painted it. Also i opened the shock absorber of the retract Gear cleaned them and greased it a little because the mechanic was with some burr. I have to wait for maiden flight because of the Corona situation because our Airfield is closed.”
