FlightLine Spitfire Mk.IX 1600mm (63") Wingspan - PNP Reviews

4.8 Rating 350 Reviews
You can tell that Flight Line is growing as this evolution of their product is by the best yet! The foam, fit, finish, hardware and paint are superb. This one has been thought out. The airplane flies great in the stock form. It flies very smoothly and is a real floater on landing. Do not hesitate!

Very nice flyer. You need to let the tail come up at the start of the takeoff roll for a nice takeoff. Leaps off the ground with very little throttle. I was only able to induce a snap by forcing a very tight loop. An ordinary loop is just fine and the plane does not exhibit any bad habits in all other aspects of flight including very tight turns. I set my surface throws midway between the high and the low rate recommendations. I still think they are a bit too fast. Do not use the water transfer decals as they look nasty once they have dried over foam The large light colored stripe around the tail is made up of a couple of stickers and looks ok but really needs to be painted on. Otherwise this one is one of the finest looking Spitfires available.

Love this Spit. My first and it was well worth the wait. Great size, amenities and performance. Treat her like the tail draggin' warbird she is and you will be rewarded with excellent sorties. Not a speed demon by any stretch...Power setup is meant for scale flying and it's wonderful. Graceful in the air...What a profile. Land under power or a wing will indeed drop. Fantastic model!

I now have about a dozen flights on this Spitfire. It is a superb aircraft. She takes off, flies, and lands beautifully. She flies like a warbird; so, you'll probably want some tail-dragger warbird experience before flying her, but she's easy to fly. I love the new crossbar that has been added to the prop/spinner assembly. A few things that I've noticed are (1) the wheel well pulled out of the wing, on a not-so-bad landing, but it easily glued back in and is now very strong, (2) a grub screw on the landing gear worked loose, due to no thread locker having been applied (Again, easily fixed), (3) on grass fields, this plane will nose over, if you don't carefully manage the tail. On landing, make sure that you have a good flare and keep the tail low. She's not a speed demon, but she flies very scale-like and is gorgeous in the air. Even with the minor new-plane squawks that I'd mentioned, I still give this plane 5 Stars. MRC has done it again!!!! Keep the big warbirds coming guys!!

Build went together very easily, maiden went great. Running a 6s 3700 in mine with no problem... first flight was 5 min and still had 46% on the battery... probably don't need the extra weight of a 5 or 6000 just my opinion. Putting the invasion stripes on mine should look good. Oh yeah definitely needed up elevator mix with the flaps down. Other than that she flys great.

This is my first flightline plane & I'm totally impressed by the quality & finish it has. Looks not like foam even close up & the scale is amazing. Has plenty of power don't feel the need for any upgrade in that area. Vertical she climbs with authority & those low strafing passes look real good. Landing gear is real stout & handles grass with ease. The flaps are really nice on this bird also & will slow her down to a crawl if needed. The lights are also really bright even in the day time. Servos are quiet & smooth operation like that very much. I cannot find anything negative to say about this bird. Flightline has some great engineers behind them. Thank you MRC for this one & hope to see all the classic warbirds in this size by flightline. Maybe a corsair zero P51 P47 etc. Happy flying everyone.

Beautifully engineered, looks great on the ground and in the air. Mine needed no trimming to fly straight and level. It has plenty of power yet is very quiet too.

Hands down this is the finest offering I've seen yet from Freewing. The hardware, fit and finish are outstanding. Everything lined up perfectly with no effort or 'mods' needed to assemble it. The foam is fantastic in my opinion. The airplane flies great and is very docile. The only issue I had is a bad flap servo which was DOA. Contacted MRC and they replaced it ASAP! I couldn't wait for the flap servo to arrive so I did the maiden sans flaps. It really doesn't need them as it is a floater! Take your time with the decals. There is some good information on the Hobbysquak forum as well and RCG. Do not hesitate to purchase this one. If you like electric warbirds that fly great and have an awesome presence you will not be disappointed!
