Recently purchased Flightline 1600mm Spitfire, I can only say how impressed and delighted I was to deal with such a professional team. My only concern was that I wasn't aware at the time of purchase that important tax on my purchase was not included in the price, and as a result had to pay an extra £67.00 to UPS. I would still have ordered it as even with the import tax it was still cheaper than I could have gotten here in the UK. 6 days from Ordering to delivery - WOW!!! Excellent service. Thank you. I love this Spitfire so much I bought a second one.My first review is below, “Review 101”.I have experimented with flying characteristics v/s C.G. location.If your new to this model definitely go with the 90mm cg location. This basically equates to 24% of mac. The model is a bit nose heavy this way but will fly and land much more locked in, especially in windy and or crosswind conditions. Make sure to add the prescribed up elevator as per the manual before flight as you WILL need it. Real Spitfires had a narrow margin of longitudinal stability primarily affected by the cg location. I have flown with the cg as far aft as 110mm or 29% of mac. The plane takes off and flies quite well with the cg here but during landings it behaves like the real Spitfire and developes the poor longitudinal stability it's famous for. Crosswind landings with any gusting can be particularly hairy as the controls become so touchy between rudder and elevator. If your a great pilot then you'll figure it out but this is not for anybody newer to this type. My second Spitfire was done as a Mk VIII Grey Nurse, Bobby Gibbes aircraft. Callie Graphics was awesome in helping get this right. She now has a great set of teeth available for Aussie Spit's. The factory paint sticks so well I was able to use painters blue to mask with before airbrushing.

Flies much bigger than it is. Great airplane. Great details. Really like the option of applying my own graphics in the end, so it doesn't look like every other one at the field.

As far as bang for your buck goes, this model is hard to beat! This was my first delve into large foam PNP airplanes, I was always put off by the finish of the foam, I have seen one to many Gator skins at my flying field. This model was perfect and the overall effect was beautiful, however my reason for 4, not 5 stars is the paint. It needs very little excuse to come off, even low tack masking tape will pull the paint right off.As for flying, it is just like the full size airplane, a real handful on the ground, especially landing or taking off with a crosswind, but once in the air it flies beautifully. I have about 20 flights on my Spitfire to date. I found that balancing it slightly nose heavy made the elevator much less sensitive and greatly improved the handling both on the ground and in the air. (Note, I fly off a tarmac runway.) Just over half power produces a very realistic speed in the air and with good throttle management I can get 8-9 minutes of flight time.

WOW! What a graceful flier! Flightline has found a great balance in speed ,flighttime,and ease of flight on this one. Assembly. Only issue I had in assembly was ,while trying to set my tail control surfaces, I had to take the main wing off in order to adjust the linkages inside the fuse. Also, when initially trying to test all the servos, with the blue box, I did not realize the landing gear lead feeds power to the blue box, so ,nothing will work unless the LG is plugged into it from the Rx. (I was initially only trying to set my tail controls before having to add the main wing.) Having said that, the main wing is a bit of a PITA in terms of transportation. If it had quick connects for the wings electronics,then it wouldnt be as bad. Just feel like it couldve been designed different for ease of removal. This is the only reason I gave it 4 * instead of 5 .Flight Heres the WOW factor...I have to admit,this has been the best flying electric warbird for me so far. The power is plenty , for t/o I didnt even need 50% throttle, more like 30-40% ...using half flaps actually made it lift too early..so I didnt use any flaps for t/o in a less than 5 mph cross wind. Flying around the field was awesome, this thing just looks fast in the air already,so flying at half throttle was plenty ,with a few full throttle passes into vertical ,it'll give you a big smile everytime. Just a flew clicks of trim and it flew like its on rails. Im using the Admiral 6S 5000 all the way forward. Landings is where it got a little tricky for me... shes a floater and just wanted to keep flying.. I actually stalled it out a couple of landings ,just a few inches above the strip, and plopped on the ground ,nosing over,so now I have a few scratched up blades. Took me a couple of landings to get it right, once I figure out its characters though it was a 3 pointer everytime. If you have the FMS P-51 1700 and felt like you wanted more...well... this is more.. the power is more than sufficient compared to the FMS P-51 stock. once you get it assembled, you'll enjoy the hell out of it.

Looks exceptional; assembly of receiver to airplane wiring tight - could of had a bit longer wires; water-slide decals are crap; have not been able to get all lights operational; one landing gear drive weak - replacement out of stock. Pleasant flyer; landing gear are wide enough to make t/o & landing uneventful. Again, stunning good looks.

The appearance and scale of this spitfire is the best I have seen. The two piece wing runs the servo wires inside so no taping on the bottom to cover the traces.
