“Well, i have 15 flights on this airplane and find it to be a great easy to fly model. Assembles fast every thing fit well . c/g a little forward per manual, flew nose heavy . Flies very well on 4500ma Admiral 6 cell all the way forward. Fly it on low rates, use high rates for taxi only on grass”

If your new to this you may want to beat up someone's junk plane in this category first...I've flown several times now on both a 5000mAh and an 8000mAh battery from grass and pavement. I'll take the 8000 any day with 12-14 minute flights. The wing is so large it's a non-issue and it flies and lands much better with the extra weight, CG at the prescribed location. Trimming the gear doors keeps it happy in grass. This is not a fast warbird like the FlightLine P-38 with modified engines but is very responsive and loves to just cruise. I enjoy seeing how reasonably slow I can perform basic aerobatics with it. It's a beauty to fly. A desert version in a Mk V would be sweet and the parts could be made to swap between the two...”
“Great fit and finish. A very impressive model. What you get for the money is amazing. One suggestion and one comment. I would suggest when glueing the wing fillets on the fuselage get full adhesive contact. Don't just tack glue them in. They add structural strength to the fuselage. Right behind the wing is the weak spot in the fuselage. I won't go into how I know this suffice to say Motion RC is a great company. My comment is I don't like how the water slide decals look on the matt finish. They look cloudy under the film. It detracts from a great model. I tried decal set, but didn't help. There has to be a trick out there to get it to look right I just don't know it. The fact that the I'm even commenting on the decals just tells you how nicely detailed this model is.”
“I had the same situation as John's review below using the 5000 Admiral. On the maiden I got her up and tucked in the gear and had a fight on my hands. She seemed to be very nose heavy at the prescribed CG and wanted to dive sharply. The elevator was set at neutral on takeoff so I am just guessing it was nose heavy but I suspect so. I had to pull up to something resembling the start of a loop to get altitude and then get on the up trim as best I could. After several of these maneuvers I managed to get her dialed in and she flew like a dream! The winds here in Kansas are horrible and conditions were marginal at best but the aircraft did really well after it was trimmed. I was a bit confused on assembly as the manual calls out for epoxy when joining the fuselage with the empennage but in reality I think I should have used the included contact cement. I really hope the Flighteline folks have more warbirds of this size in the lineup! I've been flying for a long time and have always wanted a big Spitfire so I am just tickled with this one!”
“Way to go FlightLine / MotionRC as you have added another great plane to your product line. The plane flies as good as it looks. It slices through the air with ease. You can fly this plane with ease with the amount of power it has. I never want to land as I am having so much fun flying. But when you do have to land the gear drops down in a scale manor and the plane just floats in with flaps or not. The plane has such and amazing scale appearance in the air, taking off or landing in the grass. Thanks”
“Easy build it looks great for a foamie. Only problems I had was esc wasn't plugged in good so no motor at first. Easy fix, it's really nose heavy with the admiral 5000 tips over very easy on grass taxi. The elevator is really touchy I'd recommend the manual for throws and dual rate for ground operation. Likes a lot of right rudder with the big four blade prop. Other then that great plane I get 7-9 minutes on a 5000 with 25-30% battery left.”
“Well, after a long wait for the Flightline Spitfire and couple of days prepping this great looking model for the first flight I managed to destroy this bird after a short but very scary flight. Takeoff was smooth with about 3/4 throttle and initial climb out and the first two turns to the left was very normal but then, after gaining about 100' altitude I relaxed the elevator and she responded like I had deliberately pushed the elevator forward, I immediately pulled up elevator and made an attempt to put in a lot of up-trim on the elevator but I guess I inadvertently put in a little aileron and she rolled over and dove into the ground before I could correct the situation. While the CG was at the recommended position, 31/2 inches aft of the wing LE at the side of body the airplane reacted like it was very nose heavy. All the reports to date I have seen indicated that the recommended CG is right on so this caught me totally by surprise - I also have the To Flite Gold edition Spitfire which has the same wingspan and root chord with the recommended CG at 41/8 inches aft of the wing LE which, if my calculations are correct is 28% MAC and this bird flies like a dream. In retrospect I should have positioned the CG a little further aft as I believe the recommended CG at 31/2 inches, or approximately 25% MAC makes it way to nose heavy. Has anyone else out there had a similar problem? Although I have given it only 3 stars it really deserves 5 and will order another when they are back in stock.”
