“I bought this as my first rc. It definately took the abuse I gave it. I do think the wing mount could be stronger or manufactured in a different way. I was flying in low wing last night and the wing fell off. My plane is now in pieces. It was very stable and a lot of fun to fly until this happened. I believe this would have been a great second plane. The wing mounts are just too weak to be ripped off and repaired multiple times. Motion RC has been by far the greatest online store I have used. I will order online and wait a few days for shipping rather than going to my local hobby shop.”
“The stock ESC did not work. Replaced it with my own ESC and it worked nicely. Due to the big wing surface area, it can fly at very slow speed (50% throttle) and very stable.”
“I inventoried down to the screws and nuts. Everything was there. Instructions lacked a bit but I have built from kits years ago. Good quality beginner/intermediate trainer. Easy to convert to different setups. Motor wouldn't turn, was just switched two leads on the ESC and went flying.”
“I took up the pandora June 23 for the fist time. Trimmed it and it flew great easy to fly and lands easy too. I have only been flying for 7 months and this airplane is the most fun I had so far. Thanks Motion rc Ray Gucho”
“This is a large plane and an excellent flyer. Forward battery compartment is a little strange. The battery sits at an angle with Velcro on the back and side. Sturdy landing gear but could use different tires. Flies great as a high wing. I added an Eagle Tree Stabilizer just to test and it worked great. Plenty of room in the cockpit for this.Great service from motion as usual.”
“Great airplane. Just received 2nd one and awaiting to see what MRC does to a manufacturing defect on the upper wing canopy. Everything else was fine. MRC is a great company and I feel very confident that they will handle the issue quickly. Want to fly this one as a high wing tail dragger.”
“I have recent gotten back into the hobby that I started ten years ago with nitro .40 sized trainers. Loved flying those bad boys, but hated the clean up involved, so 12ided to make the switch to electric. So this was my first electric, foam aircraft, and I must say I am totally happy with it.First off...big props to MotionRC. I was shopping for my first plane and was going to purchase from some of the well known other websites that ship mostly from China, but somehow stumbled across Motion and based on the rave reviews of the business 12ided to go with them. Fantastic. Free shipping, double boxed, and a hand written thank you note...it's the little things, fellas...keep it up!!!The airplane arrived in great shape and went together very well. It will take you a little bit to ensure you are using the right screws in the right places, but just look at the exploded diagram at the back of the manual and you'll figure it out. Could the labeling of the hardware in the manual be better? Sure. But is it a deal breaker? Heck no.I'm flying her with a Tactic TTX650, having made the jump to 2.4GHz (had a HiTec Eclipse 7 that now serves as my sim radio) and after I figured out that I had swapped the plugs for throttle and rudder, we got her all figured out. Dumb mistake on my part...but hey, I'm just getting back into this!I also 12ided I would cut the flaps in from the get-go because, well, my radio has six channels, and I like flipping switches. That, and having working flaps is just cool. Set them up on a three position switch for take off and landing settings.Set her up as a high wing tail dragger initially because I knew I would be flying off grass and wanted to use the monster truck foam tires for that. Got her airborne on the maiden and was freaking out because it had been such a long time since I had flown. Foam definitely feels different than balsa nitros, but she treated me right, and with the flaps deployed, the plane just floats floats floats. Believe it or not, I flew around with half flaps the whole first day because I was just trying to keep up with her. But, flew through a couple batteries, enjoyed VERY slow landings into the wind, and returned home to the hangar in one piece...very happy to be flying this smart looking trainer!Last night, I converted her to a low wing tail dragger, replaced the monster truck tires with some normal three inch foamie tires, and programmed in some elevator/flap mixing. Can't wait to get back out to the field and see if my new adjustments help with the trim required after deploying flaps. Also, I'm flying off pavement now, so the big ole tires are not required anymore. This bird looks SWEET with the lower profile tires and the low wing configuration. If you are looking for a fun trainer that will go easy on you at first, but allow for more sport performance later (I've heard the Sky Trainer 11x9 will add some pep) go for this plane. It's seriously four models in one...you cannot go wrong.”
“I received my Pandora 3 days after I ordered it. It was well packaged and arrived in perfect condition. I was very impressed with the quality of the aircraft as I unpacked and inspected it. As has been noted in other reviews the instructions are not the best. Having said that assembly is very easy and intuitive. The hardware sizes are easy to figure out and I don't think you could really get them in wrong locations. Everything fit easily basically snapping into place. The 2200ma battery was not available so I substituted the 2400ma battery which is slightly longer. I had to trim a small piece off the foam at the back of the battery compartment and the battery fit perfectly. Control setup was easy taking only few minutes to set everything to neutral. I added an ounce of weight at the back of the fuselage to balance in the middle of the range. I used fishing weights and some 5 minute epoxy for balance. The last time I flew an RC model was 1978 so I enlisted one of the flight instructors at the local club flying field to help me. On the first flight he added a couple of clicks of aileron and elevator trim. He was very impressed with how well the aircraft flew and handled the 8-10 mph wind. I found the plane stable and easy for me to fly. It tracks well and is easy to keep on a heading. On the third flight I did a few loops and a roll. On the fourth flight I landed the plane! That was exciting after so many years away from flying. I flew four more flights primarily doing landings and take offs with a few touch and goes. The plane is really nice to land with motor at idle and carrying a little power to the flare. Takeoffs are easy with just a touch of right rudder to keep it tracking straight. Over all I can't say enough about how much I like this airplane. For me it is the perfect beginners airplane (my flight instructor agrees!) that with a little help it will take you a long way down the road of not only learning the basics but well beyond. Before I purchased this airplane I called Motion RC to ask a few questions. They were very helpful and courteous. They are a veteran owned business which is plus for me. Highly recommended, 5 stars and two thumbs up.”
