“I've seen a video about how much work goes into the design of these foam planes. Not enough in this case if you look closer, and not a single review tells you this. One servo in the wings is misaligned to the control horn and the rod goes a little diagonal. Not a very big issue but after all that design work things like this shouldn't happen. The CG... is it actually correct as shown in the instructions? Putting it there requires the battery (Admiral 3S, 2200mAh) to be placed that far forward that it cannot be tied down with the velcro that's in the fuselage. Also the wooden part in the fuselage that is supposed to take the screw from the servo hatch could have been properly glued in so that it doesn't come loose when trying to fix the hatch. Other than these issues it's a superb plane so I'm not too disappointed. But it makes you wonder about the quality of the other kits MotionRC makes. Mistakes like these are easy to avoid, yet the investment was never made. I have read about mixed up servo plug labels (rudder and elevator are mixed up) in an older review. This mistake also still exists. How hard can it actually be to let the manufactor know they have a mixup....?”

“I bought this as a trainer for my kids with me on a buddybox. Flew perfect out of the box with very nice handling. I use 2200 and 1800 batteries and it doesn’t feel heavy at all. I enjoy flying it by myself with the engine on and off just loitering around with good stick feel.”

“The Shrike flies great, similar but better than the E-Flight Cresendo. Thermals well. The plug in wings are a great feature making this a truly portable glider that you can set up in 1 minute. Recommend flying with a smaller battery such as a 1100 as the recommended cg point with the heavier battery puts you way too nose heavy. I would have given this 5 stars but there are a few design flaws. - The speed controller does not provide sufficient BEC current to run the receiver when the flaps deploy. On mine, on the bench I had noticible loss of control due to receiver drop outs when deploying flaps. I replaced the ESC with a YEP which supplies 600 Ma receiver current and it fixed the issue.- Nose cone spun off in flight, need to CA it on- Flaps need to be enlarged to affectly act as speed brakes so you may lnd in tight places”

“Centre of Gravity, at 65mm. it will ascend and have little penetration, this with the Admiral Battery ! My battery is up to the motor, so the battery strap is useless, shield the rotating motor shaft from the battery plus I added 10 grams making the C of G 55mm. Control surface movements good don't restrict aileron too much you need them at slow speeds. The two boys doing the tandem flying in the video said ONE thing worth noting, I/2 speed at launch, NO MORE or you will get a viscous role to the left. When you have got it flying well it is brilliant, mine in a brisk wind could be flown more stationary than any helicopter. The quality of manufacture excellent.”
