“My 14 year old son loves these UGEARS sets and has several now. The Locomotive was the most challenging, but he was able to put it together completely himself, which kept him busy for hours at a time over the span of a few days. It's really neat to watch the finished train move, too. These sets once put together are really beautiful in a steam-punk sort of way, so my son likes to keep them displayed on his desk and bookshelf. They look super-cool.”
“Bought this for a friend for Christmas and he's loving the assembly process. Be sure to watch videos as there are definitely good tips about trimming and waxing the pieces. It takes a while to build, but apparently it's a very enjoyable process and the builder will love it that much more once it's completed.”
“The user guide of how to put it together lacks some extra details. You have to cut cocktail sticks (provided) but you dont know how long they need to be. The wheels have to be very specifically put on for the external pistons to go on. The pieces are not very easy to push out and the laminate often comes apart. We have only got to page 11 and our fingers were aching from pushing it together. Dont think ours will move even with the candle wax (not supplied) rubbed on the moving parts.”
“If you like building models, this is a must build. If you take your time and work on it for 4 or 5 hours a day this can take about a week to build. I took my time and paid close attention to what the instructions tell you to do...model worked on the first try. Very happy and I will be buying more of these models.”
“Bin etwas enttäuscht! Manche gelaserte Teile lassen sich sehr schlecht herausheben! Da muss man schon sehr aufpassen dass nichts bricht! Beim Zusammenbauen sind mir 2 wichtige Teile und am 3. Teil ist eine Kante gebrochen! Finde leider keine Seite auf der man Ersatzteile bestellen kann! Nun ist die Freude daran etwas getrübt!!!Vllt hat jemand ähnliche Erfahrung gemacht und eine Idee wie ich an Ersatzteile komme!?!?!”
